King House — Restaurant in Ellsworth

This place was great until they raised the prices, changed the recipes and they have been inconsistent with how I should order the chow mai fun properly. I used to always call and order it make sure to also and confirm I want the sauce that “comes with it,” until I was told repeatedly that it already comes with it so I didn’t need to ask for it. ONCE they actually gave me the sauce without my having to ask but twice now, they have failed to include the sauce so I call to let them know I did not receive it and ask to come pick it up where they proceeded to tell me I needed to ask for it so I will now be charged separately since I did not ask when ordering. I explained to them that I was told multiple times that it already comes with the sauce and she just said, “yes ma’am there will be an extra charge,” repeatedly. I was polite until she repeated the same response. Then I just hung up instead this last time. Terrible customer service twice now. Overpriced for the quality they are pushing out lately, as well. I do like this place, and the food is good. But my issue is this I started asking for extra chicken in my fried rice. $2 extra charge. No problem there- except they don't give me the extra chicken, instead they just cut it up smaller to distribute it throughout the rice. Like it's usually in thick strips at the top of the container when you open in..now, this is "extra chicken". Just cut those same strips into smaller bits. And took the extra money. I am from Louisiana. The land of the best food. I am a Chinese food addict. I’ve eaten at hundreds of Chinese restaurants over the span of my life and This was ABSOLUTELY THE BEST CHINESE FOOD I’VE EVER HAD. I travel 35 mins one way for a meal to treat myself. I love this place. I will be back many times over. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. Don’t listen to the negative reviews. They have no idea what they’re talking about.
