Ate for the first time here with my Aunt yesterday and had a awesome experience. The food here is incredible. I also really love the cozy feel and friendly staff. It was pretty busy when I came so I recommend getting there pretty early since it takes a bit to get the food. It’s well worth the wait though and while waiting definitely have the coffee since it has to be some of the best coffee I have had in years.
I also recommend the milkshakes. They get there milk from a local place and their ice cream from Penn State’s famous creamy.
I was also sincerely impressed by the price of breakfast. It was really cheap for the amount of food that you get and the quality of said food. The breakfast that I got was El Toro which has a Mexican theme to it that was unique and I would definitely recommend if like me are not a fan of the classic American breakfast. The salsa that they make gives it a refreshing flavor and the avocado was also a nice touch.
I will add on more when I eat again tomorrow before leaving for school and I’ll be anxiously waiting to get back since they have a lot of different things that I would like to try like the cinnamon...

From the moment we sat down, the service was warm and welcoming. We ordered the pancakes and the stuffed French toast, and both were absolutely phenomenal. The pancakes were fluffy, golden, and topped with just the right amount of butter and powdered sugar — simple but perfect. The French toast was next level — loaded with strawberries and piled high with whipped cream, it was indulgent in the best way possible.
What really stood out was the kindness of our waitress. I asked about the biscuits, and even though they don’t normally sell them individually, she brought us a couple anyway — completely unprompted and incredibly thoughtful. That small gesture alone made our morning. And for the record, those biscuits were heavenly — soft, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth good.
It’s rare to find a place where both the food and the people make you feel so at home. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend if you’re anywhere near...
Read moreBreaking Bread is a fantastic diner! Friendly staff, great food, and some serious portions for the price. Looking at that bad review from a Ms. Tervo on here I thought she sure looked familiar. She was hanging around during one of my visits, being overtly belligerent and self-entitled. Ran her mouth the whole time, probably ruined the experience for the other guests. Someone ought to feed her with a slingshot if thirty seconds from the grill to the table is too long to wait. Now I've seen some ridiculous reviews and that sure takes the cake. Christy's? If you're in the market for an overpriced colon cleanse and a cold cup of coffee grounds then I agree, it's the place to go. Christy's is a filthy place and I don't think even the CDC would run an inspection on that kitchen. If you want some excellent food in a top-notch environment, stop for a visit at Breaking Bread! You won't be...
