Gambino's Italian Deli — Restaurant in Elmhurst

My wife and I stopped in to ask to hang a poster in their window (which they let us, very kind) and we were struck with the most enticing, mouth watering, delicious smells an Italian place can give off! We absolutely had to get a sandwich.

The Food! We split a Messy Sicilian. Creamy Burratta cheese, Roma tomatoes, Arugula, Prosciutto, Capicola and Balsamic V&O. Every ingredient and inch of that sub were delicious. The burratta was so creamy and fresh. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The meat, while not plentiful, was very tasty and quality meat. My wife is going to put arugula on every sandwich from here on out. Over all the only problem I had was that there wasn’t a lot of meat, but I’m from New York where a sandwich is 99% meat and 1% bread and sauce.

The service! 10/10 quick and friendly. We ate in. The gentleman behind the counter described his favorite sandwich’s for us, and seemed to really love the food he served. Didn’t take more than a couple minutes to receive our sandwich and drinks at the table.

The ambiance! It’s an Italian deli, and definitely gives off that vibe. Glass cases filled with different meats and salads. Cooler along the wall with prepackage foods and drinks. There are a couple of tables in the front by the windows, and extra space in the back with more seating options. The seats were really comfortable (enough for me to remember them). We enjoyed eating in at Gambino’s.

All in all! You gotta try this place for yourself. They have something for everyone. They are friendly, fresh, and best of all LOCAL. Just good Chicagoans makin good food. Thank you Gambinos! We’ll...

I would like to share such a wonderful experience at Gambino's from start to finish .My husband an I was out exploring Elmhurst the Umbrella Sky in Elmhurst.we took the trolley to sight see and found this beautiful restaurant boy we're glad we did the food was delicious thank you Ray, highly recommend .The ice cream oh my goodness I was in heaven perfect I got pistachio and let me tell it was so good. My favorite place to eat when I am in Chicagoland! I live in the South and it is nearly impossible to find an authentic Italian Deli! Favorite thing I have had is the Train Station Sandwich and Pasta Salad with meat. I stop in every time I am in town! Service is always beyond friendly...
