My Kid’s review: Review by Jonathan & Everett: Taco Kings, Almost 12, Definitely Cooler Than You
Okay so first—the customer service? Elite. Like Chick-fil-A-level nice, but with tacos. They explained the menu like we were VIPs, gave us free samples (major win), and got our food out lightning fast. Place was clean, friendly, and didn’t smell weird. That’s a big deal when you’re hungry and picky.
Now for the food breakdown from two dudes who know what’s up:
Tacos – MASSIVE. Like, need-two-hands level. We got steak, beef, and chicken. Steak was the champ. Beef and chicken were fine, but steak had main character energy.
Guac – Good. Zingy with lime. Everett thought it was a little much, but Jonathan said it slapped. Either way, we kept dipping.
Chips & Salsa – Chips = crunchy win. Salsa = watery but not tragic. We still finished the basket like heroes.
Tamales – Both were good, but pork was king. Chicken was just… there.
Rice & Beans – You know the drill. Classic. No drama.
Churro – Eh. Not top-tier, but sugar is sugar.
Overall? We’d 100% go back. Better than Chipotle, cheaper, and like… high chance we won’t even poop our pants. Honestly, that’s the dream.

Read moreThe food here is surprisingly great for a new place—this place really feels like a classic Chicago Taqueria. The horchata is strong and flavorful without being too sweet. The burritos are huge, and they had no problem swapping out ingredients when I asked. The guacamole is excellent, and the refried beans are some of the best I’ve ever had. I was pleasantly surprised by the Cheesecake Churro Burrito too—it's a fun dessert that would be perfect with some dulce de leche or caramel. Its crispy and amazingly made.
My only small complaint is with the Chile Relleno. I love how fresh and well-made it is—no microwaving like some other local spots. But I was a bit let down that it only came with one pepper instead of two, especially since it also included a lot of iceberg lettuce and diced tomatoes. I’d rather skip the salad and get a second pepper.
Overall, I’m looking forward to trying more off the menu. If I knew that I could get my Chile Relleno dinner fix here, this might just become...
Read moreMy family and I stopped by for a late lunch today and I am so happy we did. The staff was very nice. The service was quick everything was fresh and made from scratch. I could feel the love and attention put into every single dish we had. Between us we had a chicken burrito, 2 small quesadillas, barbicoa taco dinner, a side of rice, drinks, and chips and guac. The portions were great, prices affordable, and everything was delicious! My youngest son exclaimed yes, we don't have to drive far any more for good Mexican food momma and I totally agree with him. I am so happy to have this restaurant in Elmhurst and within walking distance of our home. I foresee many more visits here...
