Buchan's West Bay — Restaurant in Elmwood Charter Township

Buchan's is the best ice cream around. Most flavors better than Moomers. Love that it's owned by an Old Peninsula blueberry farmer & family. Not only is their ice cream fantastic, but the home made baked goods are equally as good. Just had to drive thru their newest location on way back from viewing the air show, since the Blueberry Hill farm location out on the peninsula wasn't open yet. BUT....I saw their sign up on Peninsula Drive today on my way home from town and I'm betting that means they're now open out here too. Yahoo!!!! Giving 5 stars because the ice cream is delicious and to help offset the weird review/accusation of lies/Reese’s. I had the lemon poppyseed and apple pie and they were SO amazing. Tasted just like a lemon poppyseed muffin (better) and real apple pie (like christmas apple pie in a cup). The only thing I would have changed is if I could have gotten one scoop of each together in a larger cup instead of having to get a regular size of each flavor, because that ended up being too much ice cream for me :( but all that aside, I loved it and will definitely be back...

Easily the best ice cream in northern Michigan. They use cane sugar instead of corn syrup, local fruit and the flavor is simply way better than the competition. The caramel crack is addictive, I’d eat just the saltine toffee by the barrel if it were sold separately! Lastly, buy anything they make with blueberries. (Sometimes, they have pies). I grew up going to the Buchan’s blueberry farm, and still go today - it’s nice to see some things from back in the day...
