Fat Frogg Bar and Grill The — Restaurant in Elon

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! We had a group of 5 first timers and our time sitting down at the table was at 5:30p.m. we ordered and did not receive our food until 7:15p.m. and we all ate very quickly because we where so hungry from waiting and honestly we all went and stopped at a fast food restaurant on the way home to have some food that was half way decent compared to the terrible dinner we had at Fat Froggs. (Our first time at Fat Froggs was on April 14th 2019 from roughly 5:30p.m. until 7:40p.m. and this will be our last) Also I'm not exagerexagge on the times we met our friends there at 5:30 and since we waited and waited forever we all kept checking our watches for the time and I sure know how long it took, and thank you for the actual and figurative headache that your restaurant gave me and also thanks for waiting my time and money!! Very much appreciated 👍😑

I went to fat frogs with very high hopes since I have heard so many things good about how good there food was and that they're always having music or something going on like bands playing and such. But tonight when we went they had a band there which is fine and expected but the drummer drummed the whole time and everything was extremely loud and to add to that, everything that was hooked to a microphone was turned all the way up to max Volume and it was making my ears/head ache in pain from the constant insanely loud music.

Which leads me to my experience with the food and service, we waited for am hour and a half for our food and I was going to get up and leave if our food wasn't almost done so I walked near the kitchen doors and asked one of the workers how long they thought it would be for the 100th time and they said it shouldn't be much longer so I asked her again and told her that's what everyone has told us and we have been waiting here for an hour and a half and she said oh my gosh I'm sorry and I just started to see the chefs put the food into the window as I finished asking her.

So then the food arrives we got 4 burgers with fries and chips and a chicken tender plate with fries everything was cold and so greasy you could barely pick it up, the only thing hot was the chicken tenders which you when you bit into it you could tell that it was done and sat around long enough to get cold and thrown into the frier again just to get it warm.

Long story short that was the first and the last time I will be ever going there and everyone who talked so highly about this place is...

I personally enjoy locally owned and operated restaurants. I prefer to support local businesses. Fatt frogg failed to deliver that personlized touch that many local owned businesses provide. Sadly, this establishment could be a lot better.

There's not much to like here. Limited draft craft brews, poor customer service and just all around bad atmosphere. The wait staff could care less about your patronage. Menu is basic bar food which is is sub par and overpriced at best. The atmosphere is stereotypical college bar vibe and could use some updating to at least appeal to a larger demographic since it is located in an area that could benefit from such. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone, unless of course you just want a beer and listen to music. Don't count on the wait staff to accommodate you in any efficient amount of time though.

Another noteworthy fact is if you arrive on a night a band is scheduled to play(and you have no desire to listen to band) either leave immediately or get out before 945p because security will strong arm you into paying a cover charge while you are in the middle of eating/drinking and demand you pay or leave immediately.(even if you are on outdoor patio away from band area) . You could have a group of friends that could result in a substantial food/beverage tab and it still doesn't matter. The cover charge will be demanded.

Last but not least, fatt frog is a dirty/dingy establishment. Staff is not friendly or in any way motivated to earn a service industry wage plus tip. Security staff is rude and obnoxious. I don't even think there was a manager on duty that evening my group patronized this place.

There are plenty of places to spend your money, don't do it...

We had eaten here the previous Sunday and the food was delicious. We came this Sunday expecting the same and the waiter was not attentive as he should have been but we thought 💭 maybe he is new and didn't complain. The food came and we ordered chicken wings that were good and one chicken tender basket was good and hot but three chicken tender baskets were cold and the chicken was pink inside. I ordered a burger and it was burnt and the sweet potato and regular chips were rubbery and cold. They said there was no owner or managers there as they were spending time with family on Sunday. They then proceeded to charge one in the party for a glass of ice water and for food we could not eat. The one man jerked the money and receipt out of one in our parties hand. He never brought the change back and said we had to pay for food we sent back after agreeing it was not cooked properly. We were charged for food we could not and had tried to eat but one bite was enough. We were told there was a new cook. They talked rudely about us to two other waitstaff in hearing distance and as we walked out the door, were laughing and pointing at us. I have never written a bad review but this experience was unbelievable. I would have highly recommended this bar/pub before today as great, but the difference between this experience and that one was horrible. I guess you can try it if you want and it might be like forest Gump, it is like a box of chocolates, you never know what...
