MAHD House Bar & Grille - Elyria, OH — Restaurant in Elyria Township

Went with 3 others to dinner several months ago. Long story short, 3 of us got our food while the 4th person's order (a pizza) kept delaying. Waitress wasn't much help, she was MIA at our table the whole evening. I finally chased her down at the bar, after we were all done eating, to PLEASE check on my friend's pizza!! Turns out the "cook" had fallen asleep in the kitchen and burnt the pizza (she had to wake him up), so he was going to have to make another one! Gee, I wonder what kind of a substance served in a bar could possibly put a cook to sleep ...I wonder? Anyway, my friend still wanted to wait since he was starving. He ended up taking the second try at a pizza to go. In the meantime my ginger ale was flat (waitress said their machine was broke and no one was there to fix it). The wings were LOADED with salt and we needed extra napkins to wipe them down. Either way, I wonder as to the cleanliness of a kitchen where the cook is sleeping back there instead of cleaning (or, for that matter, cooking!).

I've ordered To Go orders there before, and they charge an extra $1.50 on these orders. Once I even tried asking for no styrofoam container or condiments when I ordered a burger, hoping I wouldn't get charged this fee but alas I still was even though I just got a cheeseburger wrapped in foil and thrown into a paper bag (they didn't even give me the usual dill spear to add insult to injury). And the bartender literally threw the bag at me across the bar since I interrupted her conversation with the bar rats. A cold naked burger for $10 yum. Haven't been there since, and I am telling everyone I know not to bother. I'd say, eat there at...

The food used to be great. Service is terrible. They constantly have the phone off the hook. If you do get through, they ask you to hold. While holding, you get to listen to all their conversations for 20 minutes, then when they remember you are on hold.. They hang up the phone and then again take it off the hook.

Finally, I got an order placed after trying for an hour. (It's my son's birthday. It's the only reason why I tried so hard to get the food it was my son's request) picked up the food got it home and realized they didn't even give me my son's order. Everyone else's food is sitting here getting cold while we had to drive back up there to pick up my son's burger. And I'm sure that's cold too because it's just sitting on the counter waiting for us to pick it back up.

The phone issues have happened on more than one occasion. I have multiple Facebook messages that I've had to send to this bar just to get their attention to get the phone lines back working again, only to be placed on hold and hung up on multiple times. I've decided we will no longer spend our money in this establishment.

Not overly impressed. Went here with a friend for lunch and sat in a booth directly in front of the bar. We waited several minutes for a server but no one seemed to notice that we were there, even after I walked closer to the bar to see what was on tap. We tried to make eye contact with the bar tender who seemed to be purposely avoiding us so I literally had to stare at her until she "accidentally" made eye contact and apparently felt like she had to say something. The server that finally took our order was very nice. The food was just ok. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken was a little grisly, but not too bad. The french fries were cold and "floppy". I used some malt vinegar that was on the table that tasted old or something. My friend ordered bbq wings that weren't bad but really drenched in sauce.
