Chicken Coop — Restaurant in Emmett Charter Township

I went here to get lunch today, having not been here in over 6 years I ask the cashier, “ is the chicken going to be fresh”. She then goes and speak to another associate whom was boxing the food. The cashier then comes back and says I’m not going to charge your card because you asked if the chicken is fresh, and closes the window. I sat there a moment waving for someone to come back, The employee who is doing the boxing then comes to the window and says. We are not serving you, I ask why and she says that I demanded the chicken be fresh. I said no I asked, which was simply a yes or no. After she sat and argue I ask for a manager. She then tells to the back Justin do you want to deal with this. Justin comes around, I explain to him what happened and why am I not being served because of a legitimate question. I was not nasty during any interaction. He then states that I offended them when I ask if the chicken will be fresh. I stated that anywhere I order food I’m always asking for it to be fresh and I have the right to ask. After all the back and forth I still paid for chicken because now my lunch is over and they have waisted my time. Get home to eat and they overly salted my fries and barely put any in. October 2012 review: Stopped in here for a quick meal, based on previous positive experience. A different crew was working and I didn't get the same neat and clean feeling I had previously in March...so I'm moving serve from a 2 (Very Good) to a 1 (Good). However the food was still good and was a decent value. I will probably return if in the area again.

March 2012 review: Real good fried chicken. I was in this area on business and saw this little chicken shop in a converted old Dominoes Pizza building. The name was quite novel, and obviously a local thing...so I just HAD to try it! First thing I noticed was that the shop was VERY clean, efficiently operated, and the food prices were very affordable!. I also notices a constant stream of customers...usually a good sign. The speaker must not work right cause neither one of us heard the right order. When I called up there they wanted to be rude to me about it. My order was wrong all 3 orders were messed up missing things. Enough sauce for 1 person pop tasted flat, and they told me to go somewhere else to get food. If I wanted to come back I could but would have to pay for it. Not for 100.00 I'm not paying again. I just paid over 50.00 for food to be messed up. Thought when customers food was wrong you Male it right and fix it. Last time it was wrong you took the food back and fixed it.
