D'Nicio's is one of my favorite places to eat. They offer a variety of high quality salads, Coney dogs, gyro's and ice cream. Everything on this menu is made with exceptional quality and is more than worth the price, which is extremely low considering how well the food is prepared. We paid around $6.00 for an ice cream sundae, expecting two or three scoops in a small dish, but instead received a frosted pint mug filled to the brim with fudge and peanut butter, and we were unable to finish it even though we wanted to! The service is extremely friendly, and the manager came out to thank us for dining with them. This place comes with a catch: it's very popular. This is a testament to how good it is, but for a casual diner it might pose a problem: there can be a pretty long wait. They're a new location, and are very crowded due to their popularity with the locals, so their wait staff is a little slower than ideal. However, if you're willing to be patient, the food is definitely worth it. Everything here is simply fantastic. If you're going to eat anywhere in Battle Creek, try this place, it's worth every penny and all the wait. (Which is going to be considerable because this place deserves...
Read moreWe were really pleased to find this restaurant.
We had the Saganaki appetizer, proper flame and "Opa!" included. The gyro was excellent - trimmed from a spit, and with a delicious tzatziki sauce to go with it.
My husband enjoyed his shrimp basket, though he prefers a slightly different cocktail sauce.
We also had a delicious cup of chicken noodle soup. Honestly the best I've found since moving to Battle Creek. Their house ranch dressing is also yummy.
We grabbed a few scoops of ice cream to go. Haven't dug into those yet, but they look divine.
Our server was lovely - just the right level of attentiveness. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly and cheerful, which was impressive since they were readying to close. You'd think after a long Saturday with miserable weather they'd be a bit cranky, but we sure didn't see it!
Prices are what you'd expect for a diner - including our ice cream (generous scoops, too), the appetizer, two dinners (with fries), soup for me and salad for hubby, and two soft drinks (with free refills), our tab was about $42. Worth every penny!
We will definitely be making this a regular part of our...
Read moreWow! I was craving a coney dog and did they ever hit the spot! It is by far the best Coney dog I have had since moving to Battle Creek 10 years ago! The fries were crisp on the outside and soft inside, so perfect! Roger had a gyro and loved it! He is so happy that Battle Creek finally has a place to get a good gyro. The staff was extremely pleasant also. The are friendly and the service was quite quick. We had only one issue. We asked for out beverage of choice, coke no ice. The waitres response was "Is Pepsi ok?" No, definitely not, but the root beer was good. We met friends every Sunday for brunch. We have a few restaurants we rotate each week. I asked one of my friends why D'inicios is not on the rotation. She excitedly asked if they are open on Sundays because she LOVES them too.. Alas, they are not. Let's start begging them to add Sundays! Yes, we will...
