Pizza Sam's has been my "Go To" for almost 40 years. It's not fancy, it's not eclectic, it's not trendy. It's solid.
Family run business for as long as I can remember (three generations if I'm not mistaken). The Decor shows this, they are community supporters. Local league trophies adorn the walls as well as local crafts and art. I don't remember when they didn't have a Pac-Man game in the corner and there is always and interesting, if not classic pinball table as well.
Service: like I said, family run business since forever and these guys (all of them, not just the family members) bend over backwards to take care of you.
[EDIT] - Recently they've hired some new crew. I have to say I'm not impressed. The pizza quality has gone down a couple notches (hence, losing two stars on the review for my still local favorite)

Read moreI like to try family owned places when I travel for business and Pizza Sam's was clearly one of the types of restaurants.
They know their customers by name and hustled to get the food prepared and out to them also.
As for the pizza itself, the first thing I noticed was how the cheese string followed the slice from the rest of the pizza when I picked it up. To me thats a good sign of quality.
The sauce was spread evenly and there were plenty of toppings........ Wait, for thoughs who dine there often, I ordered the Bid Daddy thinking I would get a taste of almost every topping they offer.
When I opened the lid all I saw was bell peppers and olives. Don't get me wrong, love them both, but they were at such an abundance, I swear, I never tasted the pepperoni, ham, hamburger or sausage..... Wait again, I did find a rouge pepperoni on the outer crust.
In the end, the pizza had a good flavor and didn't taste...
