R&R Grill — Restaurant in Emmett Charter Township

Worst restuarant experience I've had in a long time... extremely bland food, upcharge for a "deluxe" chicken sandwich, which just adds lettuce and tomato. So if I didnt order deluxe, youd have just given me a piece of frozen chicken between two pieces of bread? Fries were also bland and mushy. The waitress was rude and you can really tell she hates her job and let's it show. No sort of greeting or any form of conversation. When our food was ready, she just set it on the table and walked away. No "can I get you anything else?" Or anything. Also never checked once on how the food was or if we needed refills, etc. Didnt bring napkins and we asked for them. After flagging her down and asking again, "hold on.". She then sits down at the counter on her phone (the picture, thank you very much). After 10 or so minutes and asking once more, we finally got some. All the while there was a couple waiting for a table that she hadnt cleared but had time to be on her phone. Over 15 minutes and asking 3 times just for napkins? When paying the bill, she took my card out of my hand and then had a snotty tone about how she "needs the receipt too". Surprised that wasn't also taken from my hand! Also worth mentioning is the flies, they were everywhere and of course they were flying in the food. At one point, there were 3 just on my left arm. Mix that with the dirty "clean" table and it's disgusting.

Very bland and flavorless food and a rude waitress who decides that the best place for a cell phone break is when you have multiple people waiting on you. Never before have I been more tempted to have just walked out...

I've given this place several tries, and when they first opened the food was pretty good, but the service has never really been great. I've never dined in but have gotten to go orders a few times, and twice when I've gone in there was such a strong odor of cleaning chemicals that my food even tasted like it. The last time I ordered an omelette for take out and I was told that my order would be ready in 20 minutes. I had to make a stop on the way and it was 25 minutes by the time I got there. When I walked in, there was another to go customer checking out, and I heard her ask the cashier if she had gotten her correct order and the cashier said yes (neither the customer or cashier actually checked the order before the customer left). The cashier ignored me for over two minutes, and a waitress asked if I had a to go order for a cheeseburger. When I said no, I had an order for an omelette, the waitress realized that the other customer had gotten my order. The cashier and waitress began to bicker over who's fault it was, never once apologizing for the error or asking if I would still like to have what I ordered. Finally the cook asked if I would still like my order and I did. The waitress promptly handed me my ticket, and I waited another 10 minutes while my new order was being cooked, and when it was finished the cashier handed it to me and I had to remind her that I still hadn't paid for it. Never did get an apology for having to wait. My food had no taste, the onions and peppers were raw, and the toast was the best part...

I really expected at least a decent visit from this place, as I've heard so many good things about it and wanted to try it. Our visit was the complete opposite. Stopped there with my fiancé and grandma yesterday, the place was not busy (like 3 other people inside), but their parking lot was chock full. We had to spend quite some time just trying to park.

The interior was very nice and inviting, but everything was just drowned out by how loud the music was and how loud staff was talking. The staff was polite, don't get me wrong. An employee randomly yelled at the top of her lungs for a brief moment during service though, she did it as she walked away from a neighboring table. Startled everybody around her, even staff jumped in front of us. It was just odd.

The wait for food was also long and when we received it, it was subpar at best. I wish I could post pictures because this was just so bad! Grilled cheese sandwich that tasted like onions.. quesadilla "appetizer" (the dish was the size of a dinner plate!) that was not even connected to itself nor cut very well, greasy.. chicken that was definitely frozen, so flat with no juice at all and fries with no salt or taste.. We aren't ones to complain and were hungry, so just ate and left. Well, tried. We waited around for a while, trying to get staff's attention, before someone finally came up to the podium to check us out.

I just cannot believe the service from this place! It was talked about so highly to us, but we will definitely...
