For the first time since they've opened was the worst customer service , not only were they 1 hr late but did not call to tell us they have cancelled the order only because they did not have supplies for 1 of the plates we ordered but they only sent a text message 15 minutes before the order was to be delivered . when we called to complain about the cancellation of our order the said manager on the phone tried to pass the blame on the delivery company POSTMATES... we told them no its not the company or the delivery drivers fault it is the fault of the restaurant they should've called us to see if we wanted to change the 1 item they ran out of... wouldn't that make more sense to allow the customer to change the one item verses cancelling the whole order? Then upon receiving the food u could tell they burned it on purpose now if u from Hawaii like I am u know we are known for the love in the food when u taste it and look at it ....there was no ohana in the food and I am disappointed that such a place would even pass this on as Hawaiian food if you don't belive me try it waste of hard earned money...I am ashamed this place even says it's Hawaiian food....what a shame ....what happened to the real hawaiian family restaurants....WARNING DO NOT EAT HERE .........I WILL BE SPREADING THIS ALL OVER ...oh yeah I forgot to mention I think they did something to our food because we all had a very upset stomach ,felt like vomiting....and I think it was food poisoning. ...I will be getting a lawyer.....WOW.......AND THE GIRL SAID I PACKED THE FOOD MYSELF AND THIS IS HOW WE SERVE OUR FOOD....BURNT,AND A LITTLE SOMETHING SPECIAL WHEN U...
Read moreThe only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because they people were nice. The food on the other hand, should get 1 star and only because most of it was edible. We ordered the Hawaiian bbq beef plate, large bento, fried noodles and a side of kim chee along with 2 drinks. Total bill for two people, $30, which is decent, however.. beef was fatty and tasted reheated. Sauce on the spicy chicken on the bento plate was nothing short of sweet and sour sauce from a jar with added siracha- terrible. Kim chee was NOT made from Napa cabbage, but instead regular green cabbage and pretty much resembled coleslaw with red chili flakes.. It may be a harsh review but honestly, if you're from Hawaii, like I am, especially Kahuku, you would know that the food that comes from that city is second to none. Don't claim to be a "local" establishment if you basically serve teriyaki sauce because that doesn't make your food "local"... Save your money guys and go...
Read moreHawaiian food is my comfort food. Haven't had much luck finding the taste I wanted in Vegas that reminds me the most of the food in Hawaii. But thankfully, Kahuku is now my go-to for those cravings. The owners are both lovely people from Hawaii who really know how to capture the authenticity and essence of the island cuisine. I had katsu, bbq chicken, garlic shrimp, and fresh tuna poke. The katsu and bbq chicken are just the right amount of crisp and char respectively. The garlic shrimp is reminiscent of Giovannis in Hawaii, but I'm somewhat biased towards Kahuku's.. The tuna poke was featured in the Wall Street Journal for good reason and did not disappoint one bit. Fresh, savory, sweet. Everything you look for in fresh poke by the pound. Portions are fantastic as well. Worth it worth it worth it. Thank you, Kahuku, for existing in Vegas!
Also, mac salad was awesome. Not too mayo-y and perfect...
