We've been a bit disappointed with the Thai food since we moved here from Seattle. Don't get me wrong, we've had some really good dishes at a few places but the overall selection has been less than we had in WA. There just aren't as many options on the menus at most places and definitely not as many of the authentic, peasant style dishes that we liked the most. A lot of the places serve a more "Americanized" version of Thai food and the real deal is just so much better. The day that the quarantine eased in NV and we were able to dine in again, my oldest daughter requested that we eat some Thai food. We are eager to help the great restaurants here in LV get moving forward again so we hit Yelp to find a Thai option in the corner of town we were heading to shop in. This was the only option but it was well rated so we headed straight there.
We were greeted very cordially and seated in a comfortable booth. I can't tell you how much we've missed tucking into a comfortable booth in a great restaurant for an awesome meal. One of my favorite Thai dishes in Rad Na and most of the places we've visited in LV don't even have it on the menu. In fact, I think I've only seen it on the menu in one other place and when I tried it, the flavor was very weak. The fact that it was even on the menu was an instant win for this place so I ordered it along with a bowl of Wor Wonton soup. My daughter ordered the green curry. My soup was outstanding. The flavor was totally strong and there were a lot of won tons in it, which is pretty important to me. It was very good. I'd say well above average good. My daughter loved the green curry and said it was some of the best she has had. She has spent the last 18 months living in Asia so she's pretty particular about any Asian food. The Rad Na was the best I've had since I left WA and they were kind enough to substitute regular broccoli for me since I don't care for the Chinese variety. I'd say that the flavor could have been a little stronger but I think that part of that is probably due to the fact that they might have misunderstood me and thought I didn't want any spice in it. I did and I'll make sure to be very clear on that next time I visit. In any case, we liked it a lot and I think this is the closest Thai food to the Costco we shop at the most frequently so they will see us a...
Read moreOk, I LOVE this place, I have been going here since they opened! However lately they have been a disappointment. We would order red curry at spicy 1 or 2, Penang curry spicy 4 to 5 and they would both be around a fiery 6 or 7 despite both having different spice levels and different types. I use to even be able to order a spicy level of a like zero, now you might be thinking that's crazy it's a Thai restaurant. But they used to accommodate me because I used to suck at spicy and I had a slowly build up to even a one or two. So I tried to order that like I use too and it still came as a six or seven spicy. They also use to make the Penang curry extra thick by adding extra peanut butter and they won't do that anymore either. Now all that being said it's still my favorite Thai place but they're starting to lose us. If you are going to go here I do suggest ordering the curry puffs, beef jerky, red curry, garlic fried rice, Penang Curry, pineapple fried rice, basil fried rice, pumpkin red curry, and glass noodles are all good. Like I said we go here a lot!!! I just hope whoever they have doing the spice they cut it back or we will have to stop going because I haven't been able to...
Read moreIncredible value with their lunch deals. Just incredible. But I will say this - we ordered for take out at 11am. We didn't leave the restaurant with our food until around 11:38am. That's bad. We also had 1 order wrong. Forgivable. I don't think I will be doing a group order here again until I've read a review that they've ironed out their process for getting lunch orders on time. We had 11 lunch meals ordered.
Onto the value - each lunch meal came with an eggroll, house salad, white rice, and egg drop soup. Best egg drop soup I've ever had btw. My red curry chicken was on the hotter side of medium, but so delicious. Everyone seemed to enjoy, even the team member who didn't get the right order. My red curry lunch meal was a LOT of food. I could have ordered another thing of white rice and made two meals out of it (actually, come to think of it, I kept half of the red curry and will be serving it up for myself on rice this Sunday for lunch).
This was my very first experience with this place and even with the couple of mishaps, I will 100% be coming back. They were kind and apologetic about the delay. Humble and good...
