My son and daughter-in-law told me about this place and they went to one of their other locations. I checked here on Yelp and I find it funny how people are talking about a chicken place in a gas station , ya'll haven't been down South and it shows ! Some of the best fried chicken is in a gas station in South Carolina , North Carolina , and Georgia , let me tell ya. Most of them even have a dining area in the gas station for you to eat and tell fishing stories and what's going on around town.
I decided to get a few things so I could make a good review and of course try a bunch of items. Okay , to start with I got one ginormous Chicken Breast and it was my favorite out of everything. I will definitely go back for the Big Ole Chicken Breast. Ha ha. I got a Small Potato Wedges and it was more like a Large with it overflowing the container. They were big and filling. Funny thing I went to Jack In The Box the other day and they don't carry them anymore and I was wanting the ones with the cheese and bacon bits on it. Oh well , I know where I'm going now for Potato Wedges.
I got a Small Cajun Chicken Tenders with the Original Sauce. I sadly wasn't that impressed with them , but they were good sized and crunchy batter. I asked for a Blueberry Biscuit , but when I got home it was the Regular Butter Biscuit. It was good , but I really wanted to try the other one which I will get next time. I got 2 of the Boudin Bites. I was really excited to try these since I've seen them on TV , but have never tried. Well , I wasn't that excited about the taste. They were okay and you could taste the sausage pretty good , but just not for me. I'm sure others will be pleasantly surprised by these.
Next time I go back and get that Big Ole Chicken Breast , I will get the Mashed Potatoes and Gravy , and make sure they give me a Blueberry Biscuit. They also have Mac-n-Cheese , Shrimp , Corn Dogs , Chicken Sandwiches , and other sauces for the Chicken Tenders. There is also a Thrifty Ice Cream beside the chicken counter with a ton of choices for you to take home for dessert. I hope you enjoyed my review and I'll...
Read moreIt was drive thru service in a plaza so yeh it'll feel congested. I ordered jambalaya and got red beans and rice. The meat had a tingy smell, but I love their honey biscuits. The mash was on point and compare to other places, the container was much larger. The wedges were ok, a few were a lil soggy. I have to inspect my food before I eat it. I can't just put it in my mouth. Especially chicken. Some ppl/places don't clean their chicken. Just put a lil water on it, batter, then fry. Uhnn uhnn!! I have to pull it apart, see if any fat, slimy pieces, veins, and/or tendons under the skin. I love crunchy skin but I don't won't to bite on that gunk. Yes, it was some gunk under the skin, and I had to skin n clean it, before I could eat enjoyably. Don't gt it twisted, I live 15 miles from the restaurant, and the site sait it would take 13 minutes to cook....
Read moreI stopped by the Chevron on Robindale after my friend told me that the fried chicken sold by Krispy Krunchy Chicken was incredible, and she was on the mark. Chicken that uses a Cajun seasoning recipe, with a crispy coating that beats KFC extra crispy. Their mac & cheese is creamy, smooth and incredible, and their potato wedges are seasoned and cooked to perfection.
This is located in a gas station on a slightly busy corner, so the lines can be quite long. The only reason for the low score for atmosphere is because the food is all take-out, and there is no dine-in area. If you are looking for some amazing fried chicken, be sure to check out Krispy...
