Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Epping

Have been to this applebee’s multiple times and have had very good experience. Some menu options are better than others but there’s something on the menu for everybody to enjoy. I have had one server there a few times and she was great, i cannot remember her name but she excels at her job. The other day my boyfriend and I were in for lunch. The server we had was named Jess. She came over in a fair amount of time and seemed to be a very bland person. Received our drinks and put in our orders with no problem. Food took a bit long for 2 pm on a Sunday afternoon but as a restaurant employee myself I was not worried. Our food finally comes out and we have to ask her for silverware after she is out of sight for a few minutes. The chicken parm my boyfriend had didn’t have very much sauce on it at all. Our server was nowhere to be found for the rest of our meal, never came by to check and make sure everything was okay or to see if we needed anything else. We finish eating and can see her standing around at the bar or by the door doing nothing while we’re sitting there looking around for her waiting for our check, I even made eye contact with her and she still didn’t come by. We had a discount card and it took forever for her to get the discount applied and then even longer for her to come grab our card, normally we would pay on the tablet at the table but our tablet displayed the order for the table next to us. When she came to grab our payment she didn’t seem amused that she had to be the one to run the card. She then walked by us multiple times with our receipt in her apron before bringing back the card and the receipt. As a server myself I understand part of the problems we had with our service, I don’t expect snappy service as I know that servers get busy, but when there’s 5 tables and 3 servers working I would expect to at least get some silverware with my meal, or my check dropped back off one of the times she walked by with it. I have visited with my family off and on over the years and I have never had a bad experience. I had the Swiss Mushroom 🍄 Burger 🍔 with fries and I ordered Honey 🍯 BBQ Chicken Wings. My family who were with me also ordered burgers to take advantage of the $1 for five boneless chicken wings when you order a burger 🍔. All of us enjoyed our dinner 🍽️. For dessert, I had the Brownie Bite with vanilla ice-cream while another family member had a small sundae. That hit the spot! Our server was wonderful! We were well taken care of! The place was busy around 6pm. Our wait for a table was short. Update: December 2023; I had a deal through the app and I tried the Fiesta Lime Chicken and the Grilled Chicken Breast. Both were good. The car side to go service was easy. Update; October-November 2024; Get the app for deals. The Swiss Mushroom 🍄 Burger 🍔 and Grilled Chicken Sandwich are still good. Chicken quesadilla and boneless wings were good. Update: June -August 2025; My daughter devoured her Mac and Cheese! It looks like the powdered Kraft Mac and Cheese from the box but even our friendly server loves it! The first time I brought my daughter, we were not offered any sides. I love Applebee's. I usually will go to the one in Plaistow,NH, however I'm at one of my sister's in Raymond so we go to one near by. The food is always good, the staff friendly & checks back a few times. The manager always checks to make sure everything is good, any problems he'll take care of it & get bring you a replacement. The French Onion soup is very good. I also got the appertizer platter with boneless chicken, home made nacho chips & salsa, chicken queso's, celery, mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce, & boneless chicken wings with multiple choices of sauce: I ordered the buffalo sauce: I got bbq sauce: When the manager came around (always just after you get your food) I told him: he corrected it right away bringing me more than what was on the platter. I brought food home (I have lunch for today). When leaving I said that I wish that they made the platter for one, but then I guess that I wouldn't have lunch for today. One will never go wrong with eating out at any Applebee's.
