Alfee’s Pizza — Restaurant in Erie

I am so upset with my experience that I will never order from here again! My son ordered us a large pizza with pepperoni on 1 side only. I listened to his call, so I Know he ordered correctly. We picked it up and drove to the other side of town to enjoy it with my mom. After sitting down to dinner we opened the pizza box and realized it was prepared with 1/2 pepperoni and bacon bits on the other half. My mom was hungry so she started to eat while my son called Albee’s back. He is a vegetarian and was unable to eat the pizza with meat on it. He spoke to someone who was identified as the manager. He told my son to bring back the entire pizza and they would make him a new one … but they would only start the new pizza after he bought back the wrong pizza. The manager never apologized for his staff’s error. I was appalled hearing we had to drive back to the store, so I called back and asked for the manager. I told him what happened and said the shop should deliver us the correct pizza. The only thing the manager seemed to be worried about was making sure we gave back the old pizza, stating “we aren’t going to give out free food”. I told him it was not our error and that I could not believe the manager did not apologize when my son called or now speaking with me. He said they would deliver a new pizza but hung up on me before I could tell him my mom’s address. I called Albee’s back and the manager was rude and abrupt. The last thing he said was to be sure and give back the first pizza. We weren’t looking for a free pizza, just the correct order! My son and I have always enjoyed Alfee’s pizza, but in these trying times where customer service can be the only thing that sets a place of business apart, we have decided this was our last...

We had an overall absolutely awful experience here. We ordered 1 pizza, 1 salad, and 1 sub. How ever what was delivered (50 mins late!) was a cold pizza, a soggy sub that was literally falling through the bag it was so wet and a non-existent salad (literallynon-existent, as in they didn't bring it!). The delivery driver told me to "call and they would fix it". I called, was put on hold, told to wait for a manager so waited again, for the OWNER to hang up on me when I told him about my order. So now on vacation with my 2 small children who have nothing to eat I have to drive to this place to get my money back, when they could've just reversed the changes on my card, and get my children dinner at now 8:15 at night. I originally ordered at 6:45pm and was told 40 mins. When I get there, no one has a mask on, there was at least 10 people cramped behind the counter (by the way the owners excuse for being 50 mins late was they were busy and short staffed, HA!) AND I BEAT THE DELIVERY DRIVER BACK THERE! I had no idea where I was going and I made it there before him... if I would have seen the restaurant before ordering I would not have ordered! It was dirty and unorganized and in the midst of a global pandemic I don't really want someone making my food without a mask or gloves on.. but by far the worst part was the owners absolute horrible attitude. We all have bad days, I get that but this is not customer service. Overall 10/10 WOULD NOT...

Let me start by saying what keeps me coming back to Alfees as a customer is solely the pizza dough. It is undeniably the best I’ve had anywhere. I am sad to share that tonight was the last time I will ever order food from there again. The customer service is atrocious. The man on the other end of the phone just appears to hate life. He acts as if I am inconveniencing him by placing an order. I almost always have to repeat my order because he just simply was not listening. They talk amongst themselves while you sit & wait to be acknowledged. Tonight I stated “You just sound like you’re having a really shi**y day.” It kind of just jumped out of my mouth. I didn’t mean to insult the person who would be cooking my food & almost immediately thought I should have cancelled my order then. My food arrived 9 minutes after placing the order. And for reference I live approximately 2 miles from the store. The pizza was clearly over cooked, appeared to have been sitting around for quite some time. I order my wings “less crispy” because they are usually extremely over cooked, to a point where there is no meat left on the bone. No exceptions this evening. Fries over cooked as well, appearing quite dark like the oil should have been changed months ago. It isn’t worth my time calling back to complain when I can just imagine how sincere of an apology I might receive. Sub-par food. Terrible customer service. Don’t waste...
