My husband and I stopped in for some coffee and ended up with two impromptu gluten-free treats as well. I selected a GF lavender biscotto (very good!) and he chose a GF orange-cherry scone. He was very pleased with his treat. The coffee we chose was a light roast south american (perhaps huehuetenango) and we both like it.
We took our things out to the patio enclosure at the rear of the parking lot; how glorious the gardening that surrounded its perimeter! The small deep purple Concord grapes were bursting with promise, the basil plant was the largest I'd ever seen, and no insect damage, and so many more colorful, delightful, shapely flowers and herbs.
My husband wanted to go back inside to look at some of the art on display and we also bought a package of coffee beans. We were lucky to discover that the young woman who took care of our purchase was also the magic touch in the garden. A thoroughly enjoyable coffee break mid-morning. We didn't have a chance to sample anything else, but based on this visit, we would gladly return at the drop of a hat,...
Read moreI usually try to go to a place multiple times before leaving a review to make sure I have a well rounded picture. I really like the environment and location, however every time I’ve gone the coffee is pretty bad, especially for the price. As a true coffee enthusiast, I really recommend offering lattes and cappuccinos under 12 ounces. The ratio of coffee to milk in 12 ounces leads to extremely watery espresso drinks. To balance it out I asked for a double shot, and my drink (café mocha) tasted like chocolate milk. There was no foam, and when I opened my drink to stir it, it was so full and watery that it just spilled over. It’s disappointing bc this place has a lot of potential. But I won’t continue to pay $6 for a 12 ounce watery drink. Maybe consider 6, 8, 10 ounce drinks with one shot, and anything above that with at least two, while having baristas work on their milk frothing/steaming. I haven’t tried the desserts but they...
Read more👏This is a hidden gem in Erie- coffee AND cocktails all in the same place! The only complaint I have is that it's sometimes hard to choose between the two!! 😄The owner and staff are friendly, amazing people- great conversation and a very comfortable atmosphere. There's yummy treats to eat too that are just as wonderful as the drinks! Great prices and there's also ”Happy Hour” prices. There are books to read, board games to play, local artwork (for sale!) is displayed on the walls and bands play on the weekends. The owner is a big neighborhood and Erie supporter and I can't say enough good things about her!! I'm not from Erie and I actually enjoy living here when I hang out at the Tipsy Bean- there's really good vibes to be had at this place. You're missing out if you don't give it a...
