My husband and I stopped in for dinner tonight for our first time. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t as good as it smelled when it was set down. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and a side of Mac and Cheese.
My chicken was pretty bland for “southern style” food, I expected more flavor from southern fried chicken. The waffles were cold and tasted a little odd, I love any and all waffles including frozen Eggo waffles lol. I just love waffles. The little container had two very thin slices of butter that didn’t melt because the waffles were cold. The Mac and cheese had very little flavor as well, and was slightly over cooked. The cheese was almost chewy which just wasn’t pleasant. I only ate about two small bites of chicken, half a waffle triangle, and two bites of Mac and Cheese. I will say the cabbage on the plate was absolutely delicious and I really loved it. Our server noticed we pushed our plates away, she asked if we wanted boxes but we declined. She asked how the food was and we said not that great and left it at that. His crawfish and shrimp were way over cooked and had the consistency of rubber. She asked if we wanted to talk to someone, which we declined because we really don’t like confrontation or anything of the sort. Another woman cleared the rest of the table and also asked how things were while we we’re waiting for the server to bring the credit card back to us. My husband told her the issues he had and she apologized, she then turned to me and asked the same thing. I said I didn’t want to comment, only because I don’t like being in those situations. We left about 90% of our food on our plates. I’m hoping it was just a bad night or something but we won’t be back because it’s a risk we don’t want to take if the food is consistently just bland. Again I did like the cabbage.
Look at how they respond to customer complaints, that behavior typically carries over to in person. They are very argumentative and condescending. Not a good look for a “business” owner. When my husband was talking to whoever that woman was, all she said was “I’m sorry you didn’t like it” The restaurant looks like it’s falling apart, water stains on the ceiling tiles. if you want good food go to CHIPPERS on state st. you won’t be...
Read moreWARNING: RAW FOOD AND NO FINAL RESPONSE RESOLVING THE ISSUE FROM THE OWNER WHEN CONTACTED - LEFT NO CHOICE BUT TO REVIEW I took my family to Pineapple Eddies Wednesday evening for dinner. We were served our meals and as we're eating i noticed how chewy the chicken was. I spit the chicken out quickly onto my plate and then I cut into a larger piece and it was absolutely RAW. I had a waitress take my food to cook my chicken again, meanwhile my entire party is slowly eating while I wait for my food to return to the table. It took so long, I had to tell her to just box it because everyone else was finished eating. My meal arrives 20 minutes after it went into the kitchen, the exact same piece of chicken including the spat out piece. So, that shows me they cooked my spit out piece of chicken on the same grill as everyone elses meal. I decided to not review the small business, but, rather message them directly to try and come to a solution. I was never once apologized to for this situation, rather I was interrogated as if it didn't happen. Although, the chef and server did admit to remembering thr situation. She said she'd look into it, i waited 4 days to hear back. I then re-messaged asking what the plan was. I was advised that she was busy with graduations all weekend and couldn't respond and was asked to wait until Wednesday. I allowed the additional time as I'm more than willing to work with any small business. Wednesday came and went, its not been 9 days since my original message and I haven't gotten 1 thing resolved or responded too or even an apology for being served RAW chicken and not being able to eat with my entire family!! I will NEVER return. The guy in the back was cutting potatoes ungloved. My chicken was served raw and the owners couldn't care less about their patrons. Very sad when a small business doesn't care about their community or visitors. Ill be taking my business to another local restaurant that appreciates it. the message attached is after me trying to contact them for days, they asked for additional time - I obliged and they again...
Read moreOn vacation in Erie, and I found this restaurant in Google Map when I was virtually checking out the area. I saw the menu and Google photos and reviews, and I love Southern cuisine. All sounded so good. I decided to give it a try. I placed an online order via their website which uses ChowNow. It was so convenient. After my order was placed, the ChowNow receipt indicated that my order will be ready in 45 mins?!! 😲 I was only 5 mins away and decided to head over there after I left them a message to see if they could cook my order sooner. When I got to the restaurant, I didn't expect it to look like one of the homes in the neighborhood. The parking was very limited in a very small parking lot to its left. I couldn't find a closer spot and I have my 2 little dogs in the car with me. I decided to illegally parked in the parking lot on the sideways. With emergency lights flashing, I ran in to the restaurant. They were very busy but they acknowledged that I was there TWICE. That was so nice. When one of the ladies was able to attend to me, she knew which order was mine, and instead of reaching over the counter to give me the food, she politely walked around the counter and handed me my food with a friendly smile. I ate my food in my hotel room and I noticed they included the plastic utensils that I requested with my online order. I got the fried chicken for my dogs and I tried some .. wow! The flavor is amazing! I ordered the Jamacian shrimps and the flavor has a little kick of spicy flavor and it was a little salty. I had such a great experience with this restaurant. The staff is excellent! I would come back for more...
