Owner Maria Minnaugh of Traditions LTD is a true cut above the rest! She has a uniquely keen sense of style, and a talent for selecting the perfect furniture, wall paper, rugs, draperies, or lighting. And her store is a treasure to Erie. Traditions would even do fantastic in major cities, here or abroad! When we designed my studio in a Colonial Revival home, it all felt so old. In came Maria with color and refreshing ideas. In an instant she brought out this gorgeous deep colored butterfly material for whimsical draperies, and oh my, they exquisitely set the place off! My classy dining set with an with antique white cane and blue leather seats glide around on coasters. My dinner guests just love them along with the edgy oval antique distressed table. Maria then brought in some hand painted furniture and unique lamps. She set a very colorful olive and blue glass lamp atop an antique piece of my grandmothers, wow that piece never looked so good! My bedroom vanity bench sits beautifully, all mirrored, with distressed silver beading. When my clients come into the studio they cannot believe how gorgeous it all looks, even with the existing ornate fireplaces. Thank you Maria! It would have never looked like this...

The store now has beautiful, original jewelry made from precious and semiprecious stones as well as excavated relics. The jeweler is local Erie Artisan Janet McGill.

She is at the store on Wednesdays to discuss pieces and has many available on display all week.

I have a few of her stunning pieces. Everything is one of a kind. She even does custom pieces. These make great gifts. Or bring in an outfit and she, along with Maria, will help accessorize.

Janet's knowledge of hundreds of types of stones is encyclopedic. I have learned so much from her.

Janet has her degree in interior Design from the American College for the Applied Arts. She is also an elementary education teacher and the liveliness of young imaginations come through some her pieces as well as unique sophistication in others. She has such a range showcasing fascinating relics from all over the world.
