Pal's Sudden Service — Restaurant in Erwin

OMG!!! What an awesome place....I have never heard of PALS until this past Sunday (3/27/22). We we're traveling when my daughter started reminding us that her breakfast was wearing off so as we were looking for a place to get a quick (should I say sudden?) bite to eat my wife happened to see this building from the interstate and got super excited. We flipped around at the next exit and was not disappointed.

First, my wife stated this look like something that would be at Dr. Seuss world. My daughter corrected her by saying it could be in TOON-LAGOON at Universal Studios and by George she is right; it would fit right in next to Blondie's.

This place is so CLEAN as we sat in line, we commented on how clean it was and figured it was a new restaurant. When I got back to my office this morning I did some research and can't believe that that building is 11 years old!!!

Last brags: the food and service were wonderful. My wife got the Big Pal, my daughter - the Junior and I got the Chipped Ham and we loved it all. The lady who took our order was pleasant and helpful. The young man that handed us our meal was also very nice. He sincerely thanked us for giving them a try and wished us safe travels without me telling him that we were traveling/first-timers. I surmised the lady that took our order told him and that says a lot about their service and their team that the word spread across the kitchen to make the customers feel valued. So in short this place is unbelievably awesome and you can tell it is not ran by a clown (lol...

Had a cheeseburger & fries here for the first time ever the other day. The place did not disappoint. The burger was good & reminded me of something nostalgic that I can't really put my finger on. The fries were steaming hot and seasoned so well that you really don't need ketchup. I would like to eat here again and get a sauce Burger as it sounds absolutely delicious, order some more of those amazing frenchy fries and a try one of their milkshakes. I would also like to get some breakfast and some of their cheddar rounds sometime in the future. The only draw back about this place is they don't have anywhere for you to eat, some picnic tables would have been really nice as it is very messy and difficult to eat inside...

This had become my 'several times per week' quick stop for a to go meal for home. However, it started to be very undesirable food. Several times during a two week period, the food I bought there was so bad, even our dog wouldn't eat it. I bought three party melts for my wife and myself. Once I got home, the burgers were cooked so well done, that they were actually crispy. After a bite, I removed the meat, and they could pass for a potato chip they were so crunchy. I washed off the 'onion rings'(?), and my dog took one bite of the meat and spit it out.
