This was a tuff one to grade between a 3 and a 4 but I decided to be nice as although we only had one main problem it was a major one . the place itself is nice! Spacious, & clean. The wait staff was polite & curtious. Food portions are like the old days! Large. My issue... After a few min. Out came both my husbands & my plates snd they were large, we were warned the plates were hot so be careful. My husband ordered the 2nd largest burrito plate, & I ordered 2 chimichangas plate. On our first bite the food was COLD yes the plates were hot because everything is pre-made & I'm guessing kept in a refrigerator. put on a plate then microwaved! As we took a couple more bites the food got warm. The rice was room temp. And bland as can be! As well as dry. The beans you can tell came out of a can & there was not even an attempt to flavor them up. Now these things are bad but to be honest I must add the white cheese sauce put on top was phenomenal! And the burrito & chimichangas but had the great flavor but it was hidden behind the coolness of the food. But the hint was there!. I doubt ill go back in to eat again but I'll order a dish to take home so I know its hot & not getting microwaved to death over and over. They should invest in a steam cabinet it would keep those burritos & other items hot but not hard. & their salsa should be drained a bit before pouring into a bowl. (Ours was very watery) p.s. they also need to use FRESH tortilla chips. It only takes seconds to fry vs those bag ones. & please add more than a heaping tsp.of avocado to the salad😊. I hope this place reads this and makes changes. They really have the potential to be the best Mexican restaurant in the U.P. or continue down this road and close. *note the comparison of the full size fork against the plate. You will be full.

This was the second time we went, but the first time we ate there. The first time (also mid-afternoon) we waited at the hostess stand while both waitresses had conversations with customers, ran food, took orders, but barely acknowledged us. After waiting ten minutes for a seat, we left. Today we went around 2 and were greeted and seated within two minutes. The waitress was friendly and prompt but did not hover. The environment is colorful and festive, they really did an awesome job with decorations, but there was an overwhelming paint smell that I wish they'd aired out. There is a wide variety of lunch menu choices for $10 or less. The fajita chicken was delicious as was the rice and beans, and the portion sizes were satisfying. I felt that the fajita veggies were a bit overcooked and my husband was annoyed that the basket of chips was mostly crumbs. Overall the service was decent, the environment was pleasant, and the food was both tasty and a good value. I'd go again.

We've been here about a dozen times in the past 4 years. Food is always pretty good. Servers, when you bring us our food I really expect you to come back and check if everything is alright. Took us about 15 minutes to eat and we never saw you. Then, we sat there for 20+ minutes waiting for our bill. Finally went up to the till. Note that there were two servers on and never more then 6 tables total. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Its been 10 months since we ate here. Ordered online but for some reason it didn’t go through. Called the restaurant personally and they explained sometimes that happens but they could see my order and that they could put it through but I’d just have to pay inside Instead of online so I agreed to do that. They said my order would take 45 minutes. After I wait 45 minutes I headed out to go pick up the food and I waited there for 5 or so minutes and they came out with some other peoples online orders but not mine. I tell the worker my name and she verifies my order and shows me it in her system and says it’ll be right out...I stood there over an HOUR AND A HALF! While I was patiently waiting not one time did the workers there even regard that I was there or offer me a seat, drink, or even apologize about the wait. Meanwhile I’m looking around the restaurant noticing that it’s not just me who is not getting any service, but the people and the families that went there to actually sit and eat! Finally my food came out and I gave the manager the chance to offer me a discount or even an apology and all she said was, ā€œhere’s your food.ā€ At that point I had had it and I said There’s two options, I either get this for free and walk out of here with it, or you refuse that and I’ll walk out with nothing. She looked at me and said ā€œfine grab your food and go then.ā€ I left feeling that I probably could have handled the situation a little better but once I got home I was happy with how it all played out. Not only did I wait for over an hour and a half, but when I got home to eat the food with my wife IT WASNT EVEN WHAT I ORDERED!!! Would not recommend this place. I’m sure it’s not like this for a lot of people but overall for a Mexican restaurant it wasn’t...

My friend and I decided to drive to Esky for a little taste of the border and landed upon this restaurant. We were sat quite quickly and was served our drinks and chips/salsa very promptly but then the restaurant took a turn for the worse. The place was packed and all 4 people on the floor were hustling and bustling there was no bartender and the wait staff was making drinks while juggling every other possible thing in the restaurant. We had to wait for our order and wait again for our food meanwhile listening to the arguments coming from within the kitchen. Really didn’t see anyone in charge or a manager to diffuse the situation and lots of tears while waiting on customers. We felt bad for the staff that was trying to wrangle everything/everyone that were around them. Short handed at this restaurant is saying nothing they were swamped and no one to help them out. The food was awesome but we felt bad for your staff and hope the management team would realize that they needed help. Kudos to those who were on last night and wake up owners of this place this is a gold mine but will soon crash if you don’t do something about what went on. We got our boxes to go for our meal and cleaned our table as many tables were not bussed or cleaned up they didn’t have time to do that. Help these people help you owners.
