A Charming and Delicious Breakfast Experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Home Sweet Home Breakfast Restaurant truly lives up to its name! I had the pleasure of dining here last weekend, and I can't say enough good things about my experience.
First and foremost, the atmosphere is incredibly cozy and welcoming. The decor is charming with its warm colors and vintage touches, making it feel like you're eating breakfast at a close friend's home. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure all guests are taken care of promptly and courteously.
The menu is extensive and offers something for everyone. Classic breakfast items like eggs, bacon, and pancakes are done to perfection, while unique dishes like their avocado toast with poached eggs and salsa verde provide a delightful twist on traditional favorites. I personally ordered the veggie omelette with a side of their famous home fries, and it was absolutely delicious. The omelette was fluffy and loaded with fresh vegetables, while the home fries were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
One thing that really stood out to me was the quality of the ingredients. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, which is a testament to their commitment to using locally sourced produce and meats. The coffee was also top-notch, bold and smooth without being bitter – the perfect complement to my meal.
The prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food and the portion sizes. I felt that I got great value for my money, and I left feeling full and satisfied. Another bonus is that they offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, so everyone in your group is sure to find something they'll love.
In addition to the amazing food and cozy atmosphere, the location of Home Sweet Home Breakfast Restaurant is convenient and easy to find. There's ample parking available, which is always a plus when dining out in California.
One small note: the restaurant can get quite busy during peak hours, so it's a good idea to arrive early or make a reservation to avoid a long wait. But trust me, it's worth the wait! They also offer takeout and delivery services for those who prefer to enjoy their breakfast at home or on the go.
Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Home Sweet Home Breakfast Restaurant to anyone looking for a delightful and satisfying breakfast experience in California. I can't wait to return and try more of their scrumptious dishes. If you haven't been here yet, do yourself a favor and pay them a visit – your taste buds...
Read moreHome Sweet Home Cafe in Escondido, is a breakfast haven that lives up to its name. Our visit at 8:30am on a Saturday set the perfect tone for a delightful day trip to SD. The short wait before being seated only added to the anticipation, and once inside, the cafe exuded a genuine home away from home atmosphere that was both warm and inviting.
Upon perusing the menu, we were drawn to the promise of a comforting morning meal. The decision to start with their delicious coffee proved to be an excellent choice, served in charming mugs that added a touch of coziness. Our orders included a veggie omelette and home fries, a child’s pancake breakfast, and the much-raved-about biscuits and gravy breakfast special.
The standout of the meal was undeniably the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were a masterpiece of flakiness and buttery goodness, while the gravy, thick and rich, featured delectable bits of sausage that elevated it to perfection. It's safe to say that their biscuits and gravy are the stuff of dreams. Totally worth the 100 mile drive down from LA.
Beyond the exceptional meal, the service at Home Sweet Home was exceptional, with an attention to diners that set a high standard. A thoughtful touch was the presence of a tree in one corner, where children could pick out a toy—an extra layer of warmth that showcased the cafe's commitment to creating a welcoming environment.
As we left, already planning our return, it was clear that Home Sweet Home had become more than just a cafe—it was a comforting retreat that felt like home. We eagerly anticipate the next opportunity to savor those wonderful...
Read moreVisited this restaurant during a recent trip to Escondido to see my son in the Navy. I chose this after reading other reviews. When I first arrived, there was no parking to be had. Its in an industrial area. I drove down the street looking for other parking and there was no other place to park. I turned around and was going to locate another place to eat, but saw a vehicle that had just pulled out of their parking lot. We were immediately greeted and advised we could pick any open table we wanted. The wait staff was super friendly and fast. I had read another review that the biscuits and gravy were really good, and its one of my faviortie breakfast meals, so I ordered that. My daughter had a kids pancake with chocolate chips added. I ordered a coffee and an OJ. The OJ came out in a giant glass, way more than I would normally drink with coffee. For the $3 price for OJ, you definitely get a lot, but for me, just way too much.
The biscuits and gravy was nothing special. It actually lacked flavor. They weren’t bad, they were just bland. I ordered hash browns instead of potatoes, and I tried to discern what was the creaminess of them. Wasn’t sure if it was the butter, or something else, it was very odd. They weren’t bad, just different. I asked for crispy bacon. The bacon was in fact cooked, but it was far from crispy. My daughter enjoyed her pancake.
The place was decorated with country like decor. What I wasn’t impressed with is the wall of my booth table. As you can see in this picture, it’s dirty. Its not an appealing sight to see - especially during the current state of the world...
