Cheddar dill bagels are now in Essex, and I am rejoicing. I pass this place on the way to work sometimes, and I look forward to when I do. The bagels have a shiny, hard crust on the outside with a soft, chewy interior--a real long island sort of bagel, if a bit smaller. The staff is friendly and the service prompt--but best of all, it's consistent. You know what you're going to get there, and it's always good. The sandwiches are varied, there are specials on rotation, and you can always make your own. Go check it out, it's a whole different league than the place in this spot previously.
I have edited this review based on recent experiences. The food is still very good. However the service is not. Four times I have called ahead to order and they have not picked up. They tell me it's because they ar too busy to answer the phone. Totally understand. Except when I arrive there is no one in the store. Today I called from the parking lot looking through the windows. Not a single customer, and yet no...
Read moreI enjoy coming here a lot. However I would like to say one thing, as a New Yorker, born and raised on Long Island. Suffolk County. And only living in Vermont 5 years, the item listed as âNew Yorkerâ and its description is very far off of what we would call a âNew Yokerâ the lox? Yeah.. the cream cheese?? Yeah⌠but never have I had onions or capers on my bagel. I understand this is your interpretation, and it makes me happy to hear that youâve added such to your menu. but Iâd say, maybe it should represent us a little better.
Everyone knows you go to NY and you get a bagel, sausage/ham/ bacon or all three- egg and cheese (American) Sometimes even on just a roll! Aayyy⌠getting carried away here! In any case! Just a thought, but off I go to get some of your...
Read moreLunchtime Monday and theyâre ´out of tomatoesâ as I am unapologetically informed when ordering a BLT. Sat down to eat my +$10 ´bacon lettuce and cheesĂŠ - and the âplant personâ who is contracted to water their two hanging plants proceeds to walk along the bar stools just beside me in order to water the plants during the lunch hour. I move my handbag to accommodate and she tells me no to worry âthese donât dripâ. She leaves and thereâs a puddle now on the stool where my bag was and water drips from the hanging planter onto the lunch counter. Thereâs just no reason to come back here with so many...
