I've been going to Hop Sing for what must be 10+years, after a coworker was reheating some leftovers that looked and smelled amazing. I was not disappointed and haven't been since. They make most of their food in house and it shows. There are few things on the menu that I prefer elsewhere. Their fried rice isn't too heavy, their chicken is almost always tender, their dumplings and crab rangoon are savory, and on and on. We've tried almost everything on the menu and every time we try another place we end up back here, even though we drive by at least a few other places on our way since moving out of the neighborhood shortly after our first trip there.    Read moreMy son and I are in the process of visiting every Chinese restaurant in Chittenden County. We always order the same thing.
I order a chicken and broccoli combo with pork fried rice and an egg roll. My son orders a sesame chicken combo with pork fried rice and beef teriyaki sticks.
Price: $18.04 or $.25/oz which is about average for Chittenden County.
Portion: 4.7lbs between the two meals is a .3oz more generous than average.
Pros: High traffic convenient location near Lowes on Susie Wilson Rd. Fifteen minute turnaround from order to pickup. Newer microwavable trays. Full size egg role
Cons: Food flavor was average at best. The pork fried rice was a bit salty, dry and lacked flavor.
Impression: Decent food at a convenient location earning Hop Sing's a 3...

Walk in to grab our food and she asks for my number, I tell her, she says I donât have anything for you. I tell her what we ordered, she finds the bag then tells me âyou said __â. Lady, no offense but I think I know my phone number, Iâm guessing you misheard me in your rush to get off the phone. Paid, went home. Food was decent, lo mein was good, hunan chicken was okay but was spicer than expected and chicken pieces were rather large. Would I go back? Maybe, if our preferred Chinese restaurant was closed and I had a hankering for...
