McDonald's — Restaurant in Essex

First off, I hate the double order speakers in the drive thru. They do not effectively serve every other customer at this location. Everytime I go through the person behind me in line ends up in front of me. For fast food this location is not that. I pulled up yesterday and the parking lot lights were not lit. Took almost 10 minutes to get to the window. I asked if others had let them know that the lights were out. They stated that they close at 8pm. It was now 8:01pm. So note to self, your safety in the parking lot is not a concern to them and the lights will be out before they close. Was told to pull forward and park with the several other patrons to wait 15 more minutes for our mediocre food to come out. Had plenty of time to look up the hours of operation on Google and their local website, both stated that they were open till midnight. I ordered dinner for my wife and my son of 3 years old. I never go to macdonalds. But this night i was exhuasted and i just wanted an easy out. I got my wife a 4c chicken sandwich. I got myself the smokey blt special and I got not a single piece of bacon on it after requesting extra bacon. For my son I ordered a plain cheese burger with only cheese and and a beef patty and ended up getting all the fixing which he did not like/ or eat and i had to go back out and get him something he would actually eat... this was after making myself clear and being asked about what I wanted from the person taking my order. Even on the receipt it had said exactly what I ordered all together. The man at the window was very nice. I know him by acquaintance. If there is a next time I guess I will pull everything out and check EVERYTHING before leaving. But what is the point? This is also not the first time this...

Service was quick and staff was polite. My only complaints would be that it seemed they're trying to push customers into using the new self order kiosks. When we went to order staff took our order on one (I think they are trying to increase the popularity of these by showing customers how to use them by a staff member ordering your food on it) but the young man who was taking our order really wasn't familiar on how to use them so he struggled to find everything . And because they're offering more table service at this location we had several different staff members check on us throughout our meal. Which normally would be great service but they were coming a few minutes apart so it kind of felt like random staff were asking me how my meal was every time I took a bite- we spent 20 mins there and we had 5 visits from staff after receiving our food.
