I had a TERRIBLE experience at this restaurant. I went here for my 18th birthday dinner with my family. There were about 12 or 13 of us, so not a really big group or anything. First, they assigned us a waiter that had been on his SECOND week of serving. They pushed like 3 or 4 tables together for us, and put them up against a wall so hat we could barely get in. There was no room to even sit down, let alone put any purses/bags/presents. We were crammed in there. The waiter was very nice and you could tell he was doing his best, and I don't even think he was the problem. Our drinks came pretty quickly, and it started off well. The bread that they served was completely cold, but he was good about continuing to bring bread and drinks out. I ordered an appetizer of bruchetta and a duo pasta dish that had half fettuccine alfredo and half ravioli with tomato sauce. I even asked the waiter if it was vegetarian to be sure (because I am strictly vegetarian), and he said it was. After ordering, we waited FOREVER for our food. Some peoples entrees of soup and salad came out first, then someones entree of pizza came out, then my cousin's appetizer of calamari came out. I mean there was no order to the food that was coming out at all. It was totally random, and none of it was very good. I was last to get my entree (about 15 minutes after everyone else had got there food), and when I asked about my appetizer that I had been waiting about an hour for, he dais that the kitchen was understaffed and that it will be out soon (even though I had made a reservation, so they should have known to book chefs for the kitchen, and I don't think that was the problem. It seems as though they were just lazy and throwing things together and then letting things sit on hot plates on the counter forever before bringing it out). When I finally got my entree, it was cold, and when they brought the bruchetta out, it was a huge plate with a small portion of chopped tomatoes and a few pieces of toasted bread. Nothing really had any seasoning, and everybody complained that their food was cold and bland. Nobody at my table said that their food was really good. But we ate anyway, just happy that our food was finally out. After eating some of my food, I realized that they put the meat sauce on my ravioli rather than the tomato sauce. There were little chunks of ground beef, so I didn't notice it at first. I ended up getting sick from it and had to miss a concert after dinner because I didn't feel good enough to go. Not only did they make my birthday dinner horrible, they ruined the rest of my night on my big day. I was so upset at that point. This was my 18th birthday dinner and there were more mistakes made than good things. I told my waiter and he apologized and said that he would take it off my bill. That was the line for me. I also wanted left overs, but obviously that was out the window at that point. The restaurant wasn't even busy! I asked for boxes three times before someone finally came 15 minutes later to box up our food. The waiter said he would give us all free dessert, so we all ordered dessert. I ordered teramisu to go, and my cousin ordered cheesecake to go. It took another 20 or more minutes for dessert to come out, and I was so ready to go. Again, the hot desserts were cold and not very good. As my cousin was getting ready to leave, they still had not brought out of boxed dessert. I asked for it three times, and every time the waiter left, he never came back with it. He ended up having to comp quite a few things off of our bills, and then he made mistakes on the bills and took forever to run the cards. It took forever to get our desserts finished and our checks paid. I can easily say that this was the WORST restaurant experience I have ever had, just sucks it had to be on my birthday. I wanted to write this review (which I never do) just to warn people not to go here. I will never be...

NEVER BOOK AN EVENT AT MAZZI’S! The most unfortunate experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant in my life and to make it even worse it was my own wedding. I booked the private room for a party of 30 well in advance. I had been in communication with Brett one of the managers. I paid $125 to have the private room for the whole night. He asked when I’d be there and I requested 4:15pm so I could set up some decorations for the wedding. He came and introduced himself to me only once, he was very unfriendly. Everything was going great until around 6:45pm our waitress told us that Brett said we needed to be out in 15 minutes! We hadn’t even cut our wedding cake yet or anything! I was so upset I was crying (on my own wedding night!!) and didn’t understand why we were being told we had to leave when I payed to have the private room for the whole night. I spoke to Brett and he pretended he had no clue what I was talking about in regards to having the room the whole night. I wish I had known to get a contract in writing saying that we’d have the room all night. I truly couldn’t believe this was happening. He told us that another party was renting the room at 7:30. We refused to leave bc we hadn’t even had our cake or done presents. At around 7:15 he had his workers in the room trying to move tables around while our guests were still eating! We ended up all moving to one table since some of our guests had left. We had been playing music and kids were dancing throughout the night it was so fun! He came in and demanded I turn off the music and that the kids needed to stay in there seats. Mind you, these are all children under the age of 5! Plus who doesn’t dance at a wedding!? He knew what the plan was and he snuck around, planned another party with the assumption we’d be leaving by 7:30. When the next party came they were clearly very upset as well. Brett told us he put the heaters on OUTSIDE so we could move our party outside. It was VERY cold and we had 4 infants with us. One being my 5 month old son. Why would we want to sit outside in the dark, wet, rainy weather anyways? Truly the day was going perfect until Brett had to ruin it. My partner and I are both in recovery so we said nobody would be drinking at the wedding. Brett even mentioned to us that night when this was all going down that he figured since we weren’t drinking we would be out early. That is so unfair. If this hadn’t happened, I would’ve had our next big event there considering the food and atmosphere was so nice. However, with everything that happened we will NEVER be going back there again. Everyone who was there with us was also horrified. My parents and brothers flew out from New Jersey to be here for my wedding and they couldn’t believe the way my husband and I were treated by Brett. It was truly disgusting! He is a creep and stole our money. We also ended up paying three times the tip amount. My parents were not informed that 20% gratuity was already on the bill. They and someone else paid two separate tips. Someone should have informed them they were paying extra when the tip was included. I will not recommend this place to anyone solely because of Brett. I also will be fighting to get my money back for the “private room”.

Another side note is that Brett said they were going to create a kids menu and...

Mazzi's is hands down one of the best fine-dining authentic Italian experiences that Eugene has to showcase. It's set at the base of the hills in South Eugene and it's ambience is beautifully low-lit and in a way, delicate with outdoor patio seating that features a tiny, smooth-flowing babbling brook and a warm, cozy firepit with seating surrounding it, perfect for a chilly night that just adds to the feeling and vibe given out of comfort and beauty. Perfect for a romantic night with your main squeeze or just sitting around with good friends. They have a great variety of cocktails and an extensively flavorful wine list with the option to sample any that might catch your eye. The appetizers, like the menu, rotate on occasion (Could be seasonal, but I'm not certain) with my all-time favorite being the Roasted Garlic & Cambazola served on grilled crostini. Definitely a hit for all those bread and cheese lovers out there like myself. The entrees are ridiculously savorfull and myself being a fan of chicken, I tend to gravitate towards the Chicken Parmesan and the Chicken Marsala, both full of amazing taste notes that complement the experience that is Mazzi's. Oh, and if you're a fan of Chicken Fettuccini, it is an absolute staple of this establishment and never a dull choice. That dish in particular really accentuates that searchable flavor and palette of Italian fine-dining we all quest for with all of the prominent spices kicking off the taste buds in your mouth. Surely I wouldn't skip dessert here because they have an amazing selection of sweets, one that I'm sure will satisfy whatever you might be craving. If it were me, I would pick either their famous cheesecake or the Tiramisu, which for any coffee enthusiasts out there, will blow your MIND. Many layers of delicate, soft and decadent espresso flavors will send you straight to heaven. The hosts, servers, cooks and the entire staff are always friendly, inviting, informative and as helpful as they can possibly be and have always given me a sense of warmth, like family or like being in a familiar place. I'm not sure if it's appropriate or against policy while giving a review to single out a particular individual server in general, but I've gotten to known an amazing woman through my years of eating at Mazzi's, who I will simply refer to as "S". Whether it be a holiday (Like Valentine's Day, which is today, when I visited and the reason for me writing this review), a date I was treating to a nice meal, mother's day with my Mom or just a normal occasion in which we were in search of good food, she has gone above and beyond to make every single experience of ours memorable, fun, amazing and most importantly, TASTY! So to recap, if you're on a mission to find amazing food, a warm atmosphere and a staff who treats you like family and makes you feel at home, there is no better place than Mazzi's for all things Italian. I am in no way shape or form affiliated with Mazzi's. I have no stake to claim or promotion to plug. I simply wanted to shine whatever light I possibly could on this outstanding establishment that has always left me 100% satisfied and feeling like I've been taken care of. Give it a shot! I can guarantee; You will leave even happier than the moment you set foot...

We made a reservation a couple of hours before dinner, and it went through without issues. We ended up arriving 10 minutes early, and were seated right away. We were very happy with the service; we certainly did not feel like we had been forgotten, and did not have to wait any more than in a typical restaurant. Our server was polite, positive, and attentive. I had the ravioli with mushroom alfredo sauce and shrimp, which was delicious. The portion size was perfect for me. My husband had the cannelloni, which was packed with chicken and tasty, although he thought the portion size could have been a bit bigger. Both of us had the panna cotta with berry compote, which was a delightful dessert. We also enjoyed the restaurant décor, and the vase of real flowers on the table.

I was looking for a place to celebrate by husband’s birthday and we LOVE Italian food. Both of us studied abroad in Italy for a while so we can be a little picky when it comes to authentic Italian food but this place is IT!! The food is fresh and full of flavor from Italy (including a great wine list with wines from Italy). They hand make their pasta and have their own Italian family recipe for sausage that tastes like heaven! And beyond the food, the atmosphere of the place reminded us so much of Italy; There was no rush to get in or out, just taking our time enjoying a long family meal. The wait staff had great recommendations too and made sure we were satisfied. We’ll be going back again and SOON!
