Chin's Cafe — Restaurant in Eureka

Two stars because it’s edible. My question is, why run a restaurant if you don’t like cooking? Vegetables have a natural flavor to them. One has to work to remove the flavor from them. These guys clearly worked hard because they succeeded in removing all flavor from the food.

The Kung Pow shrimp was watery and devoid of pleasure. The Szechuan tofu was boiled in a dish water sauce that makes me never want to set foot in the province. The crab and cheese puffs had no contents in them. No crab and no cheese.

I felt like I was eating my first meal in the county jail and they cooked my food with punishment in mind.

Soy sauce and sriracha put a flavor (of sorts) back into the dishes, enough to make the $75 meal for two work as a delight-free calorie binge.

The wife wants a do-over. I just want a decent Chinese place in Humboldt County. Save your money and go to Siam Orchid for Thai.

I am absolutely stunned that the public gives this place 4.0 stars on google. Have these people never eaten Chinese food before? Some of the best Chinese food is 4 hours away in SF. How has that not trickled up to us behind the redwood...

The food was fantastic! I've never been here before, however after recently seeing a post on a local Facebook page where tons of people were raving about the place I decided to go here for dinner tonight while we were in Eureka. The food was absolutely incredible easily some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. The waiter who I'm pretty sure owns the restaurant, was very friendly and attentive. I see a few negative reviews I'm not sure what happened with their experience because everyone in our family was very satisfied. All of our meals were simply amazing. I look forward to dining here again next time We decide to go somewhere for dinner in Eureka. P.S. don't let the old 1970s style orange booths and the outdated decor fool you. This place is a perfect example of not judging a book...

I had posted an honest review and it was removed. I just want to warn people about the quality of the food and the ridiculous price. I did not take a pic as I should have to show but I just wanted to get out if there I spent $70 on garbage. The owner seemed nice so I am sorry to say the truth. The food was horrible! I ordered the special of the day green bean shrinp it was drowning in very salty black bean gravy. I had the taste that the ingredients were stale and old. II honestly don''t know what all of these people are saying the quality was poor and the portions were small for what you pay. These people obviously have no taste buds and low standards. There is NO GOOD Chinese food in Humboldt. The only half decent place is the Vietnamese...
