My sister personally went in to mk reservations one week in advance and the person wrote her name down Nd # in party giving her reservation for last night. Assuring her of this. Upon arriving last nite we were told reservations were NOT given nd they didn't mk reservations Nd would try Nd work with us. We waited 40 mins. During that time numerous people came up asking for silverware drinks their food their meals plates etc. Numerous people came in to be seated and eat NO one was seated - plenty of tables were available and empty. NO one was seated. Then an entire party came in the back of the restaurant Nd were seated immediately Nd an entire other group came in front Nd said they had RESERVATIONS Nd were told to go to bk Nd were seated immediately as well. The entire back half of restaurant was reserved Nd were all seated Nd being personally served Nd being personally fed while the entire group of customers in front continued to wait on tables to be seated at, others had to continue to wait on and continue to ask for food and service. We were eventually sat at a booth with a table that barely sat 6 we were a party of 8 with a reservation. We asked to be moved as we could not possibly fit. We were moved Nd the waitress complained OUT LOUD about it, her attitude as well as the other servers towards us the entire evening was rude as if they were inconvenienced to have to serve anyone. The food came out at 4 different times not together, being as much 15 -20 mins apart each time over course of evening.
The "reserved " back half of the restaurant were treated with their food on a continual basis, served personally by many servers and it was prepared before and served while most of the other customers hadn't even been seated yet and all had been there longer than that group waiting for a table. The other customers were basically ignored all even Not seated not served continually being given excuses. Everyone had to continue to ask for service, silverware plates food drink etc and wait to be seated. While the party in back are continually being served.
We went there for a very special reason and personally made reservations and assured of them Nd were treaed with nothing but indifference rudeness Nd nothing but inconvenience by entire staff. The front half of restaurant was treated same way all evening
We will NEVER return ! If you wish to reserve half of your restaurant nd give them your utmost personal attention Nd ignore the entire other half in process Nd treat paying customers with rude indifference maybe you should close for evening to rest of public - us ordinary people who...
Read moreMy children amd I used to come here all the time to meet my mom and dad for lunch or dinner. My dad past away last year and so we decided it would be nice to come here with my mom for dinner like we used to. I wore my dad's plaid shirt and my son wore one too so we would have his memory with us. We expected a nostalgic walk down memory lane. My moms older and not well so this very well could be my last dinner out with her too. I wanted it to be special. But the staff treated us like we were a bother the second we walked in and sat down. They made very rude comments even though we didnt ask anything but basic service of them. My husband had asked before ordering if he could get breaded chicken on the Alfredo and the server said it was breaded. But it came out and was not breaded. Another server then said they don't do breaded chicken at all. Which he wouldn't have ordered it at all had he been told that but he just said OK and was going to just eat just the Alfredo pasta. But the sauce was gross and tasted nothing like Alfredo should taste. My daughter had shrimp Alfredo and also didnt like the sauce. My mother had eggplant parm which came with so much soggy breading it was just a tin of mush breading. I ordered chicken parm which funny enough had breaded chicken but was also soggy and you could tell it was premade and had been soaking in sauce a long time. We asked nothing of the servers but one came back to the table just to let us know we weren't the only people there. I didnt understand why she did this as we had asked nothing of anyone. We didnt ask for different food or for money off. It was just unnecessary to come say that like we cant see other people are there. Bottom line we spent over 100$ on food that tasted like microwave dinners and service that felt cold and unwelcoming. My dad would've been so disappointed and im just sad because I really miss him and I really wanted to have a nice dinner with my mom and children like we used to. We will not return and if you're looking for a warm inviting environment with food that tastes like its made with heart.... I recommend you go elsewhere because this place is nothing like...
Read moreI like Stavros. I am Greco-Sicilian myself, so I really appreciate and value this family-owned operation. The service of the family members is always excellent and friendly. I have had many great meals and memories between their restaurants, and I want to give 5 stars, but I have been disappointed more than once by some of their entrees.
The Good: The marinara sauce is some of the best I've had. The Greek salad which accompanies each meal is incredibly balanced and satisfying, as well as the garlic bread. The desserts have never disappointed: the lemon-blueberry cake is phenomenal! Basically, anything using a red sauce (or the pizza) is an excellent, safe order. The chicken parmesan never disappoints! The pizza crust is flavorful and crispy. The gyros are also really good!
The Bad: However, anything non-red sauce (i.e. the right side of the dinner menu) has always come out underwhelming at best. The scampi sauce had no flavor (basically butter with a hint of garlic—no lemon, no capers, no umami or acidity whatsoever), and was completely devoid of any salt. I previously had a similar experience with the marsala sauce—very weak flavor. The Alfredo is better by comparison, but still disappointing—overly thick, and tastes like bechamel with a sprinkle of parm/romano. At this point I have resolved to never order from the right side of the menu again to avoid sadness.
They brine their chicken cutlets, which makes them very flavorful, but I suspect it causes the chefs to shy away from adequately seasoning their sauces for fear of overpowering/oversalting—I know this has been a concern of my own when cooking. I recommend that Stavros seriously scrutinize and experiment with their right-side dinner menu sauces, because this is really their only weakness as a restaurant. If the entrees were only $10, it wouldn't warrant the time to critique, but when you pay nearly $20 for lunch it ought to be one in which you walk away satisfied. I believe in Stavros and will continue...
