Other Place III — Restaurant in Evansdale

I have to say it has been a really long time since I've been to the OP3, like 30 years.... am I that old now? I moved out of the Waterloo area in 1991 and through time I now live in Minneapolis. I spent a short vacation in Evansdale with some relatives and jumped at the chance to hit the old stomping ground. The atmosphere at the OP has not changed and that is a good thing. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She brought drinks right away and saw we were talking and offered to come back to get food orders. I will interject here that I did use the restroom and found it to be very clean and well stocked. Soap for washing hands and plenty of paper towels to dry your hands. The restroom even smelled good. An extra thank you to the OP staff for that. The food came in what I would consider an average amount of time. Again, I don't think that is a bad thing, rather it means the food was correctly prepared and done so with the intent of everyone getting their food at the same time. My meal was excellent and right along the lines of all the good memories I had of eating at the OP. I've been to the other OP's and always thought the Evansdale OP was the better of the 3. Once again they have proved my opinion correct. The OP in Evansdale is the perfect place for a group or just a quick bite. The food is simple and delicious. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. If you've been to the OP in Evansdale you know what I mean. If you haven't been there I would recommend you give them a try. It's what I would call down home Iowa Bar n Grill food that is sure to satisfy. Thanks OP for the happy new memory of one of...

I'll let you know I got carry out and we haven't eaten it yet but I love their Philly cheese steak sandwich so I'm sure it's going to be delicious I only get it at the o p... in Evansdale. I can tell you the service was the best...we ate the sandwich my husband and I had both been craving for a month since we had our very first one at the o p in Evansdale. we have an op close to buy didn't want to risk not getting that same sandwich that we had gotten last month. We were very disappointed the meat had too much gristle in it and the bread tasted more like a hamburger bun then that great bread it was served on last time. I hope they read this and fix those two things if so we'll be there at...

Service was down right RUDE. I asked to replace onions on my pizza with black olives...I got "You gotta pay for it"......um...ok...but you could have said that nicer. Our appetizer was not hot...you could tell it sat for too long before being brought to us. Well...the pizza was SOGGY. They didn't drain the pineapple resulting in a very soggy wet crust. Yes...they comped it for half...but I tossed it after trying to reheat it...still soggy even using an air fryer. Very disappointed..they are...
