Don’t listen to the bad comments on here about this place. This place was awesome!!! It’s in a strange location, but worth the hunt. They had $1.99 margaritas! How can you go wrong with that! And it was on a Friday night.

So they could use a little maintenance on the inside, so it looks like the electrical wiring is completely hanging out of several lights, so what if one booth looks like the rest of the ceiling might ‘give-way’ and the light will fall completely on someone’s head in that booth. Just don’t sit someone in that booth!

Why am I such an advocate for this place you might ask? Because this was the only Mexican restaurant out of three that we went to that actually had somewhat normal salsa! It wasn’t super sweet and it wasn’t gross. It was good! And it probably had the best hands down Mexican food I’ve ever had! Well one dish in particular. It was called the “pollo indiana “!!! Omg it was amazing. If you have ever had and like Arroz con pollo from other mexican restaurants,then You are gonna LOVE this dish. It is that, but with chorizo on top. The chicken is actually one big flat piece, with all the yummy cheese covered toppings drizzled all over. They don’t put it on the rice, which is on the side, but you can easily scoot it over in the cheese. This dish was awesome! It is a must have. Also the waitress brought us our own pitcher of water. Now I know some people might think that this is her way of being lazy, but I actually appreciated it. That way I don’t have to wait on refills. They also had Delicious Queso. It had small bits of jalapeños in it. But don’t be alarmed, it wasn’t overwhelming and too spicy at all. There is also Something called the anaconda challenge for those big eaters. Some people like those sort of challenges. We steered clear of that. But it is an option for you. I think you win a free T-shirt and your meal is free. Disappointing food Food was bland. No flavor. I had carne Assad tacos. Steak was super dry. I had one of the three tacos and left the rest on the table. Didn’t even want to take left overs home. Only flavor was extra salty. Ordered Chirizo queso as an app which was very watery. Almost like milk mixed with chorizo. We sent it back. The 3 tacos plate came with white shredded cheese and refried beans which were also extremely watery and the little bit of cheese in it was pretty much the same watery cheese that came with the chrori queso. I didn’t eat it or take it home. Salsa was very watery, almost like tomato paste. Salsa should have been chunky. Nothing authentic about this place. My first and last time. It was recommended and I am disappointed. I am from Los Angeles, been here for 10 years now... have had a few places in Evansville that where more authentic like what I grew up with in Cali but I let my gf pick. I don’t understand why the prices are what they are... it was very cheap ingredients. Disgusting food. I don’t understand why people come here. IF YOU LIKe PlAIN and OVERPricED.. come here or GO To LOS BRAVOs which is way better!!! The said “food” has no flavor ! It’s seriously plain. Los bravos has way more flavor than this “””Mexican place””” 🤢 gave my “nachos” to my dog that were over cooked chicken with no flavor ! The burrito I got as well has no flavor… I ran across one pepper that had some flavor . Doctor it up tonight cause I’m broke and can’t replace the 40 I’m out for fake fake Mexican or a bad cook. Loaded it down with jalapeños and a mild Mexican hot sauce . The beans and rice are out of a can… they are discussing.. The cheese sauce is white has no flavor.. Has no flavor in the burrito at all .. Not even the meat. The meat is so tough you can’t even cut through it. The nachos are plain and boring no flavor. I didn’t even taste the chip grease. 🤢 The salsa is pureèTomatoes… enjoy wasting your money. I should have got lost bravos or the burrito place...
