Authentic American greasy spoon dining experience.

After a 0 for 4 food experience around Paducah we wanted a decent dining experience on the way back to Michigan. After some surfing before we left, we found Rosie's Diner as a 4+ proposition. Now it wasn't easy to get there and we had some interesting experiences along the way...but that's another story.

We got there just before the lunch and we sat down to a full page breakfast menu with more stuff on the back. We did not get past the breakfast menu! Bacon, sausage, jowl bacon...JOWL bacon - never had that before, got to try it!

The portions are typically Midwest, i.e large (silver dollar pancakes the size of regular pancakes). The food was delicious and encouraged a finish despite the slight overstuffing required to complete the task.

The wife and I had a chat with lovely Rosie after the event as she worked her tail off during the busy lunch period. It is in an industrial area and the regular clientele reflect that and add to the authentic diner atmosphere. We loved it!

So if you are within striking distance of Evansville, IN - make a trip to Rosie's and do...

He then gave me the total i owed him for the food i payed he handed me my bag and i was on my way back home i get home to eat and the food was just as good as it was back in 2008 im giving rosies a 5 star for not just the food but the service in general was very nice i think id go bacm for...

My husband and I stopped in for morning breakfast while we were in Evansville today, this was our first visit and customer service was A+++++ , the food here is excellent, before we left I saw a senior citizen sitting at a table alone eating his breakfast, I noticed he was wearing an Army service hat,he reminded me of my dad and I instantly felt I wanted to pay for his breakfast and before we left I walked over and asked him if I could pay for his breakfast, and said thank you for his service to our country, I mentioned to him that I had recently lost my dad in May and that he was an Army Vietnam Veteran who was stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii, he asked what my dads name was and I told him, this man was the sweetest man, before leaving out the door I wished him a happy Thanksgiving, God bless all American Veterans, you are truly appreciated and Thank you for your service. 🇺🇸⚘️Happy Veterans day to all. 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸...

This place has been there for a long time. It's a run-down old diner, where your feet stick to the floor, dirty. It is a locals and workman's favorite. I guess the food was OK. As you can see in the picture, my breakfast was ginormous. It was one of Rosie's Jumbo Breakfasts: 5 pieces of bacon, 3 eggs, fried potatoes, biscuits and gravy, 3 pancakes, with a side order of toast. I ordered my eggs over medium. They were over very easy, runny, didn't care for that. The fried potatoes were delicious with onions in them. The bacon was crisp and good, and the biscuits were great. The gravy was, of course, a box mix, almost tasteless. The service was the best part. The ladies were friendly and prompt. They are only open untill 1 o-clock, and as I said, this is a local favorite.

A little small old house turned into a restaurant..I walked in, stood there, no one acknowledged me.. I asked a customer if I seat myself. Couldn't tell who was an employee, i went and sat down. Looked like there was one guy running the whole dining room by himself. He was literally sweating. He finally made it to me, pleasant guy, he took my order, I got my food in a reasonable amount of time. Food was great, hot and fresh. Ordered a western omelet and a small french toast. It was around $13 a little pricey since I just got an ala carte omelet instead of the biscuits and gravy or toast that came with it. But it was good.... I would say maybe try to hire some more help. But I would definitely eat here again.

During our fall break, I encouraged my daughter to explore Google and select a breakfast spot. I was a little apprehensive since I hadn’t visited this place before, and was unsure about its location, but as soon as we walked in, it felt like home! The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the food was absolutely fantastic! It perfectly captured the essence of down-home country cooking, showcasing classic breakfast dishes that burst with flavor, far superior to the frozen and processed options common in many restaurants today. It turned out to be a delightful culinary adventure, and I couldn't be happier we decided to give it a try!
