When searching for cafés, this one always came up when I was in or near Marlton. For one reason or another, I had not had a chance to visit until now. My hubby and I were out returning a Christmas gift, and because I have also heard so much about this place from posts on a Facebook group, South Jersey Food Scene, I looked it up so we could give it a try.
Café on the DL is tucked away in an industrial park in a corporate building. Don’t be ashamed if you have to ask someone in the building where it is. We didn’t ask because someone beat us to it asking us if we were looking for the café. We must have looked very lost! Could this be where they got their name?
Once we found it, we were impressed right away. Not necessarily by the decor, although it was very nice, but by the owners, Dan and Lisa. We immediately felt welcome, almost like we have known each other forever. Could this be where they got their name?
I could go on and on forever about how much we enjoyed the 15 minutes we were there. My husband ordered the popular daily special, Garlic Parm Pulled Pork (on a plain roll), and I ordered the Chicken Italiano (on a seeded roll) off the menu. We mentioned that we would probably try each other’s sandwich, and they offered to cut them and put half of each in our separate containers. Great idea! Great Service!
The Café on the DL is not a dine-in establishment, so even though the service was fast, we wouldn’t know if we liked the sandwiches until we got home. And oh boy, did we drive as fast (and safely) as we could as the aroma of the food was amazing all on its own!
Verdict? DELICIOUS! Both rolls were fresh and soft. And the flavors on both were mind-blowing for our tastebuds.
It would be an understatement to say I recommend them. Going back 20 years, I wish I had a café like this (run by them specifically) in my corporate building. They opened in February, but I think it’s safe to say if “DL” really means “Down Low” - they are no...

My husband, son, and I were seeking warmth after a morning of sledding and snowman-building, and this cozy eatery, complete with a beautiful Walt Whitman inspired mural painted by a local artist, delivered far beyond our expectations.
The owner, who is the epitome of kindness and hospitality, personally helped me choose the seasonal pasta, reminding me it might not be there next time. Every bite was a celebration of fresh flavors that balanced each other perfectly. My husband tried the top-recommended sandwich, the Pop's Burrata Bomber, and declared it a masterpiece, while my son couldn’t stop raving about his burger. Oh, and the tots were awesome! I love that there are a variety of this underrated side diah to choose from.
And let me tell you about the drinks: they serve Boylan - REAL soda made with cane sugar. I had the most incredible ginger ale I've ever tasted.
The service was impeccable, the food was heavenly, and the atmosphere made us feel like we’d found a second home. The fact that I can walk here is both a blessing and a deliciously dangerous temptation. Café on the DL earns an A+ in every way. We’re already counting down the days until our next visit. Thank you for bringing this treasure...
Read more"Wow!" Is all I kept saying while reading the menu, and even more once actually eating the food!! Truly one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had! I can't wait to go back and try all of the options! Something to note - they are located in an office building (so if you're like us and pull up very confused feeling you need to turn around, DON'T!!) You enter in the south building main doors, turn left and follow the hall until you see their sign. It looks like the door will lead you to stairs, but by the smell you know you're in the right place! They are open to the public and extremely friendly! In fact, apart from their food being so delicious, what makes me want to also go back is the staff. Honestly, if you're having a bad day and go (especially as a first timer) I guarantee you'll leave feeling happier ... I don't think I've ever said that about a cafe based on staff personality! This is now one of my favorite spots in the area, and I bet it will be yours as well! So happy we stumbled upon this great little hole...
