Wah-Ji-Wah has recently opened its doors in Stratford, NJ, and it’s already making waves as a fantastic new addition for halal and desi cuisine in South Jersey. With their reputation established from their Chestnut Street branch in Philadelphia, expectations were high—and they certainly delivered! We ordered their famous Lahore Charga, Lahore Cooley, and Naan, and I must say, the food was exceptional. The Lahore Charga was perfectly spiced and juicy, while the Lahore Cooley offered a delightful mix of flavors that left us wanting more. The Naan was soft and warm, making it the perfect accompaniment to the dishes. Each bite was a testament to their commitment to authentic Lahori flavors. The atmosphere at Wah-Ji-Wah is cozy and inviting, making it a great place for families or friends to gather. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring that your dining experience is enjoyable from start to finish. Expect to pay around $15-20 per person, which is reasonable given the quality and quantity of food served. It’s a great value for those looking for delicious halal options without breaking the bank. Overall, Wah-Ji-Wah in Stratford is a welcome addition to the South Jersey dining scene. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit for anyone craving authentic desi cuisine. I highly recommend...
Read moreWent to Wah G Wah thinking we’d get some great food. Big mistake. We ordered the karahi — turns out it was a sad, greasy bowl of disappointment with a side of regret. And for the price? I could’ve bought better spices and made it at home.
The woman at the front desk? She’s the human version of a “Do Not Disturb” sign. Rude, cold, and makes you feel like you’re inconveniencing her by even walking in — and it’s not just a one-time thing, she’s like that every single visit. If customer service had a worst-of-the-year award, she’d be the reigning champ.
And the owner… oh boy. Imagine trying to eat while someone hovers over your shoulder like your nosy neighbor, asking random personal questions and the same “How’s your food?” and sprinkling in random life advice you never asked for. Felt like I was paying for therapy I didn’t want — and bad therapy at that.
Between the rude welcome, the greasy overpriced food, and the unsolicited TED Talk while chewing, this was less “restaurant experience” and more “weird social experiment.”...
Read moreStopped in Wah Gi Wah on Sunday late afternoon to try out their Pakistani food. When I walked in, the catering people had taken over the seating area and were packing lots of boxes for a large party so my order was to go. The lamb chop platter (24.99) with basmati rice and salad looked really good so I ordered that along with garlic naan and spring rolls, and a Laziza, Non-alcoholic apple malt. While waiting for my food, restaurant employees brought me some food to sample, chicken, samosas, naan and rice which was a real treat! The lamb chops were the best I'd had in a long time and cooked "soft" or medium. The rice, salad and various sauces were excellent and added some additional spices to the entree. Great first impression of Wah Gi Wah, and I really hope they succeed at this location since the last couple places didn't last long. With food this tasty, and such nice folks operating the restaurant, Im sure they will do fine. WOW!...
