Wednesday 5/18/22 was my first visit and…the food…was…AMAZING!! I would find it hard to believe if someone had a bad experience at this restaurant. And I absolutely 100% have zero affiliation with this establishment. I couldn’t post an updated review about my experience today Thursday June 16th, 2022 but I was very disappointed. I ordered 2 chicken and 2 steak Quesadillas. I asked the 1 chicken and 1 steak be made without tomatoes and cilantro…I ABSOLUTELY HATE THE TASTE OF CILANTRO 🤮 I pick up my order and head home (27 minutes away) sit to eat and BOOM!!! Tomatoes and cilantro on my quesadillas. That’s $22 plus taxes down the drain 🤬 I only gave this place 3-stars because of my first experience. My receipt and container said “No tomato” and not the store is closed for me to return my order 🥹 but I took pictures

We’ve been going to Tejas for many years and they’ve always been consistent with their service and the quality of their food. This time I want to show my appreciation for accommodating and allowing us to have our small private event in their newly renovated space! We had a WONDERFUL server, Anne who literally went above and beyond what our group needed. Everything was smooth from speaking to the owner, Jarrelle (I’m sorry if I spelled it incorrectly) about possibly doing it in their location to setting up and getting help from 2 of their workers (sorry I didn’t get their names) to being helped by Anne during the party and until the very end. The surprise birthday party was a big success! The next time we have an event, I would LOVE to definitely do it here again if they would have us back. THANK YOU!

The birria tacos were highly recommended and did not disappoint. The order of 4 tacos was more than enough for one person and tasted delicious, especially with the au jus. The tostadas we're good too and nicely presented. I asked for jalapenos on the side with my order which I did not receive. I also left my number to receive a text when order was done but did not receive notification. When I decided to go back inside my order was done, not sure how long it was sitting there (hopefully it just came out so they didn't have a chance to text me yet). This restaurant serves authentic Mexican food so don't expect it the dishes to be loaded up with sour cream and cheddar cheese. You can get American style tacos though, for an upcharge. I'll have to go back and try the homemade tres leches cake.

I will never go here again. I have been going to Tejas for more than 13 years now (through their new and then closed location and even recent owner change). I will never go back and give them another dollar.

I was excited when I moved closer to go to Tejas grill more and saw their recent decor and ownership change (mother passed the business to her son). Since then I have tried to continue going and supporting them but today was straw that broke the camels back. This new Tejas is inconsistent in their pricing, food and policies and just rude.

A couple months ago me and my husband got a babysitter and headed over for dinner. We walked in at 8:20 (they close at 9) and there was a woman mopping the floor. She told us one second and went to talk to another woman behind the counter in Spanish. I guess they assumed because I’m brown I don’t speak Spanish but I do. In Spanish they talked and agreed they started to clean already and didn’t want to take our order but would tell us they were only doing take out. The girl originally behind the counter comes up and in English says that they are only doing take out now. Another Latino family came in behind us and heard the same and left. It was rude, lazy and bad business but I wasn’t going to hold two worker’s rudeness against the business and still came back.

About a month ago my family placed a lunch order picked it up and when we got home there was no salsa. We made do and decided it was probably a mistake and we’d go back. A week or so later we placed a large dinner order and when I picked it up I asked for salsa. The girl checking me out turns around to another woman and again in Spanish tells the girl to only put one small container of each type in the bag. I say back in Spanish to please give two of each because it’s a large order for 5 people. After all that I got home only to find part of our order was missing and I couldn’t drive the 20 mins back before they closed. I called and was told I could come back tomorrow to pick up my sides. There was no offer to refund the price of the sides back since I paid by card or any other proposal. The overall experience was horrible but still I went back.

Today we placed a lunch order and I went in to pick it up. A girl with a curly ponytail took my name and confirmed my order. I asked if there was salsa in the bag already and was told: no salsa costs extra, is this okay? I calmly said no that is not okay I needed salsa to eat my food. She then in a very condescending and rude way tells me that “salsa only comes with tacos and nachos and if I eat in the restaurant. It’s 75 cents to get one red and green salsa.” At this point I want to cancel my food completely but since she already has my cash in her hands I say fine. Only for her to then charge me $1.75 instead without saying anything and then giving me change.

I tried multiple times to support this business despite disappointment after disappointment, but this was really the last straw. It’s so hard to make money nowadays and people have a choice on where to spend it. I refuse to continue to give my hard earned money to be continually treated so poorly and rudely by staff and not even get what I’m paying for. This is not a one off. This is not an anomaly; this is how Tejas grill is now; this is the new norm: rude workers, ever changing policies and prices with inconsistent experiences. I will not...

To begin, I’ll say that I don’t typically feel compelled to do reviews. For me to do so, I must be overwhelmed with basically a miracle I’ve experienced or the complete opposite. Regarding Tejas Grill- it’s something I’ve been meaning to do for some time. However, after last night’s meal, one in which made me believe in magic once again, I feel the need to share my experience. Every single time I’ve ever eaten here or taken out, I’ve been treated like a friend or family member & at this point, I genuinely wish these cherubs were in fact my family. I visited Venice Beach last summer and am moving to SoCal soon. At Venice we found this small spot that had amazing fish tacos and my husband and I were on a mission to find a replica. Google led me to Tejas and I decided to try. I will say that my search ended there. Their tacos are unbeatable, with dollar tacos on Tuesdays AND Thursday’s, & to say they’re the best on this coast would be an injustice. They’re the best I’ve ever had, anywhere. That alone was reviewable. And then there was last night. My husband took my son and I to eat in and I saw a photo on the menu for the molcajetes. I chose pork and from the picture it appeared to be like a bowl or molcajete of pork. The server, who is the sweetest, most attentive girl ever, told me is was a big portion after I asked if it came with tortilla chips. I was unaware that in a matter of moments I would be served Magic. Pure, unfiltered magic. That picture did not do what was served to me justice. What came out was the biggest, most glorious entree I have ever eaten which consisted of the pork, cactus, a huge pepper, rice and some other toppings that just made this dish so insanely delicious that I’m not only sitting here the next day speaking of it, but it got the attention of others, with one lady coming to ask what it was that I ordered. It was so amazing that my husband and son needed to try it on the spot and even after sharing with them, I had some to take home. We were literally blown away and I caught a glimpse of the chef & basically let her know that she is the chosen one for the creation she just prepared. It was divine intervention, there are no other explanations. So basically, if you’ve lost touch of what really matters in life, or feel that you need to be on the receiving end of some magic- go to this establishment and order anything. Literally anything. You will thank me and probably baby Jesus for your experience. If I was able to move this place with me across the country with me to Cali or make them my personal chefs, I would do it without hesitation. This review has now become a novel and yet I still feel as though I couldn’t say enough about this place regarding the food and the vibes here. I’ll end with a final thought- some establishments may charge high prices for mediocre food and what you end up paying for is their overhead. Others pump out authenticity and food prepared with magic, as Tejas does. And as for me-I eat for the enjoyment and quality of the food because isn’t that what it’s all about? Treat yoself -...

I've never had a real issue with this store till today, the food is kinda bland but its not the worst. I ordered a cheese quesadilla and vegetarian fajitas just a few days ago, everything was fine. The cheese quesadilla had lettuce and tomatoes on it with cheese as it always does... Today I ordered the same thing with a few additional items, the quesadilla had no lettuce and tomatoes and they sent a vegetarian burrito instead of vegetarian fajitas, my husband ordered a steak taco and they just threw the open taco in a Styrofoam container. They didnt wrap it up so it was everywhere. When I called They were nice, apologized and did refund the price of the missing fajitas. BUT that was my dinner and I don't like burritos which is why I didn't order one. I agree with other reviewers the food is over priced unfortunately, the amount they give is kinda small for what they charge.

Update: its now 930 pm and both my husband and I have been in and out of the bathroom since eating the food. I don't think we will be...
