In regards to this establishment, Shake Shack, is absolutely incredible. I have been hearing for years from friends how incredible Shake Shack truly is. With some skepticism after learning of the recent opening of Shake Shack in Marlton I decided to give it a whirl. I can say the atmosphere is vivacious, and extremely modern. The restaurant was packed full of people with a line spilling out of the door. There was a modern tone to the restaurant with an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. The one staff member in the pick up area was more so than not overwhelmed, which I can only imagine will soon be rectified with time. As soon as this staff member became flustered an African American male whom I can only assume was the manager stepped in to take charge. He expertly organized the order, and multitasked multiple other questions by other employees as well as patrons. If he is not a manager he should be immediately. Furthermore, he was also beyond on the ball in regards to allergens, which took me by surprise as other restaurants usually try to placate their patrons. One would laud his knowledge, and his competency in regards to the dangerous reality of allergies. He emphatically discussed the allergies we listed, and went over multiple items that may have conflicted with our specified allergens. He is a highly trained individual, and his training portrayed an exemplary manner of professionalism. My family and I hold reverence for this man’s professionalism, and the overall restaurant’s protocols for training their staff. In regards to the food it was fantastic. Their fries were crisp, well seasoned, and overall not the average greasy order of fries. Their burgers are incredible, and they are extremely moist as well as packed full of flavor. The shack sauce is the prime selling point of their burger. We ordered one milkshake, the malted mint cookies and cream shake, which was absolutely incredible. I highly recommend it, and all the other food in this establishment. I can not stress enough how incredible their food was as a connoisseur myself. Their prices were a bit on the high side, but that is a literal price to pay for amazing food as well as highly trained staff on allergies. Moreover, I can not stress enough how incredible the staff, food, atmosphere, and overall incredible experience this restaurant provided. I highly recommend bringing your family, and or friends to this place for an enjoyable meal. I can safely assure you that my family will be returning again. Great job...
Read more4-1/2 stars for the burgers and fries and 1-1/2 stars for the wonky ordering process using their app.
Of the five times I tried to place an order using the app, three times I received a message that online ordering was not available for this restaurant. I'm guessing it has to do with it just opening and perhaps being overwhelmed with orders but it's not customer friendly regardless. When you can successfully place an order they instruct you to go to the restaurant by a certain ETA and then they text you when your order is ready.
The text seems a little duplicitous since they already give you an ETA. Shouldn't it just be ready at that time? So you end up standing around in a cramped waiting area staring at your phone.
Once I got the text I walked up to the counter. The girl asked if I was "George". I wasn't. And then simply grabbed George's order and gave it to him. When I told her my name she looked around, didn't see my order and then just called other people. After a few more minutes I saw what looked like my order being bagged and placed on the shelf in the prep area. Of course the food prep guy doesn't call the name so it's up to the girl expediting the orders to randomly check this shelf to see what orders are ready to go. I grabbed her attention and said I think that may be my order. She begrudgingly turned around, confirmed it was mine and then pushed the bag across the counter to me without a word, let alone a thank you.
I'm relatively easy to please and get that they are still working out some kinks. That online ordering process needs a better system. I like the way...
Read moreThe Marlton location is brand new and we had heard great things about Shake Shack, so we tried it out. The line to order was out the door, but it moved quickly. No seating was available, but we were getting our order to go so that wasn't a big deal for us. If you are eating at the restaurant, be prepared to wait for a table.
The food was good; nothing great though. For what we got, the food was rather expensive. The burger prices were typical of your fast casual burger joints like Five Guys and Smashburger, but the portion of fries we received for the price was way too small. You get more fries at Smashburger and easily triple the amount of fries for the price at Five Guys. A "little" (small) order of fries at Five Guys is more than enough for me; the order of fries at Shake Shack left me wanting more. In my opinion, the fries at Smashburger and Five Guys are way better too.
The shake we got was good, but again it wasn't great. For the price, I felt we could have been given a slightly larger portion. Once again, the cost did not match the portion size received.
Also -- unless I missed it, I didn't see where you could customize your burger as much as you can at Five Guys or Smashburger.
I may return to Shake Shack one day when the crowds and hype die down. For now, if I want a burger and fries, my choice will definitely be Five Guys. Better food, much more generous portion sizes, and not as hectic of an atmosphere (for now)...
