Tony's Taverna — Restaurant in Exeter

I absolutely love sitting on the patio whenever I go there and love the outside dining experience to the point where any time I go there, day or night rain of shine, all I want to do is sit on the patio! I don't care if it's cold. That's what jackets are for. I'll freeze to death for that food! I've tried so many things off the menu, and they are all amazing. When places we choose to eat at are all about the food, and that food is that good, the patio dining just makes it even more amazing. The wall art, the plants and decor, the resin tables that are artfully crafted, the heavy comfortable chairs, and those glimpses of the rocky peaks sipping on lush red wine are the best.. I've never been the Greece, but the story Tony's tells of his home country are apparent on that patio and makes me feel like I'm so far away traveling abroad in the Mediterannian. Did I mention I love sitting on the patio every time I go there?...

I have traveled the globe and this is some of the most delicious food I’ve tasted! There is tremendous flavor in every bite. You can truly feel the love and care that went into the creation of each plate. Tony’s Taverna is not just a restaurant but an experience! I was immersed in joy and the celebration buzzing in the atmosphere from the very moment I walked in the door and this experience has been consistent upon each return. It’s common to hear guests clapping for meals, or “Oppa” coming from the kitchen. I myself got caught up in the joy and couldn’t help but dance my way to the bathroom. If you want extraordinary food, exceptional service, and a joy filled experience, Tony’s Taverna is the place for you! We are definitely making it a biweekly date night spot! Also my 6 year old LOVES...

The ambiance is nice. Nicely designed establishment. The wait staff is very knowledgeable given the fact they are mostly young. All in all the place is perfect.

We had some time and thought we would give them a try. I’m a huge fan of Mediterranean food so I was very excited. We were kind of shocked they only served beer and wine and not a full bar selection.

Food wise we went with a gyro with fries and were both disappointed. The bread itself tasted very fresh and pillowy, but the meat tasted old and lacked flavor or even enough sauce to overcome the lack of flavor. The fries were crispy and tasted quite amazing.

Very disappointed in that regard, expected more. Maybe it was just our table and meal, because many other customers seem to have been enjoying all...
