Valenti's — Restaurant in Exeter

Buckle up for a lengthy review. Hubs and I come to Valenti's often and have never been disappointed. Sunday was our best dining experience we've had in a very long time.

Eggplant parm,salad,mixed sauteed veg and ricotta cake for dessert. Fairly simple right? More like simply outstanding. Salads were amazing. Seasonal mixed greens and fresh herbs, tomato,cucumber and kalamata olives drizzled with just the right amount of house made dressing not to mask the freshness. The eggplant...not clumped with soggy crumbs, this was shaved into perfectly thin slices and engaged with their sauce which is to die for. The unsung heroes...sauteed fresh carrot,peppers and zucchini. Tasty and not mushy...thank you. Dessert. House made ricotta cake, an old family favorite. We were very well attended by our fabulous server Alexis. So friendly and helpful. Sometimes it all just comes together beautifully. Sunday was one of those days. Thank you...

Tonight was our anniversary dinner at Valenti's and our first time here after hearing many wonderful recommendations. I would describe Valenti's as an Italian restaurant meets Man vs Food show. The portions are deliciously intimidating. My wife had the Pappardelle Bolognese while I went with the Lobster Fra Diavlo. My eyes were in shock when the food came out. I may have finished about 25% of my meal. Both of our selections were top notch. I really wanted to try the desserts so we landed on the lemon lush. Sometimes with lemon desserts they can be over the top lemony. But this dessert was a nice mild lemon flavor. The prices are definitely very reasonable. Last year when I ordered an older lady who works there was very cocky to me and seemed super uninterested in doing her job the food was meh too. Then fast forward to this year I decided to give it a chance again I called and then lady the same one rudely told me to hold on while ordering and then slammed the phone down hanging up on me while I was ordering. This establishment can careless about new customers and only cares for its select few customers who are regulars they have 0 regard for their new customers whatsoever. But I am glad she did hang up on me because I ended up ordering januzzis pizza which was very good and the customer service was very good and very helpful Id recommend you go there very nice place which velentis should take notes from....
