Big Bang Boba & Chicken — Restaurant in Fairfield

A few of us came here yesterday afternoon after being stuck in traffic on a 5 hour drive from King's Beach up in Lake Tahoe. Located in a plaza, the storefront can be described as any other sort of boba shop, only this one has a few tables for you to enjoy your boba and Korean fried chicken of choice!

We ordered a few drinks and got the cheese honey and salt and pepper chicken wings.

Drinks:

Strawberry Matcha Latte w/ oat milk - tasted pretty average compared to Boba Guys. I thought the oat milk overpowered the rest of the drink but it was still not bad. It probably would have tasted better with fresh milk. (3.5/5)

Brown Sugar Pearl Latte - this one was tasty! The boba was still warm with the brown sugar syrup and it basically tasted like those brown sugar boba bars. (5/5)

Strawberry Banana Milk - this is the one I got personally because I wanted something fruity, creamy, and refreshing. Strawberry milk with chunks of strawberries and bananas is the best way to describe it. So simple yet so delicious. (5/5)

Wings:

Salt & Pepper - I was expecting these to be like the ones you get at Chinese restaurants that come stir fried with jalapeños and onions, but it came with some Parmesan cheese instead. It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing either. (4/5)

Cheese Honey - these were better than I had expected! It had a subtle hint of sweetness and funkiness as if you would get from cheese foam drinks at boba spots. I really enjoyed this one because the natural chicken flavor wasn't overpowered by this dry rub.

I was in the area and was looking for a quick lunch and I found Big Band Boba & Chicken. I believe it’s a fairly new place. When I first arrived there was no customers and no one at the front counter. There are a few tables if you want any to dine-in, but I chose take-out. They have an ordering kiosk or if you want order with someone, you can ring the bell and someone will come out to take your order. While I was waiting for my order there were quite a few people that came through.

I ordered the Korean Classic Fried Chicken, Soy Garlic Fried Chicken and the Popcorn Chicken. This trip, I did not order and drinks, so I cannot review the drinks. The chicken were still crispy as they should be, even after I brought it home in Vacaville. Flavor was mediocre as I have had better Korean Fried Chicken and elsewhere. They also sell a few other Korean snack items satisfy your hunger.

First visit back when they first open, there was a hair in my drink and when I came back to tell them, they stared at me and just said “sorry”. After a couple minutes of awkward of silence, I asked if they can replaced my drink and they said stared blankly for a couple more minutes and said, “let me ask”.

Decided to come back a year later and they seem to have improved BUT then it happened again! I got another hair in my drink. This time I was already home so I didn’t complain to the workers but I’m very disappointed.

I read another 1 star review on here stating that someone also found a hair in their chicken. Simple solution to this is to have all workers wear hairnets or hats. Also, hire better employees with better customer service. Lastly, please turn on the AC!
