A Hidden Gem in Erie – Fresh, Flavorful, and Thoughtfully Run

We recently discovered Kadhai Kitchen in Erie, and it’s quickly become one of our favorite spots! Open for just about 5 months, this restaurant is already making a strong impression with its warm atmosphere, delicious food, and thoughtful service.

They offer a buffet system, which is a great way to sample a variety of Asian-inspired dishes. Everything we tried was fresh, well-prepared, and flavorful — clearly made with care. The staff also mentioned that they value food deeply and make sure there’s no unnecessary waste, which we really appreciate.

The ambience is pleasant and calming, making it a great spot whether you’re dining solo, with family, or a group. It’s kid-friendly and handicapped-accessible, which makes it inclusive and welcoming for all.

Another big plus — they accept reservations and will hold a table for you, which is super convenient, especially on busy days. The service is attentive and polite without being intrusive.

I previously came to this location when it was Namaste indian. I had a very poor experience there and was unimpressed. It is now under new ownership with a new chef and the change in service and food is immediately apparent. The decor inside has been improved, our server was lovely and courteous and the food, oh my the FOOD!!! I eat a lot of Indian food when I travel, as there is no option for me locally where I live and Kadhai kitchen is unquestionably the best I've had anywhere. Even rivals places in NYC, Colorado and Cleveland I've been to. The Aloo Tiki and samosas were a culinary delight. The entree was amazing and you can tell how fresh the spices are with every bite. The owner came over to chat with us and he was most enjoyable to chat with. He's very proud of his restaurant and the food they offer. There is a buffet available on the weekends and I absolutely plan on coming back for that. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Goodbye Namaste and hello Kadhai kitchen! Just had an absolutely phenomenal meal from Kadhai Kitchen via DoorDash — and wow, I'm still thinking about it! I ordered the Butter Chicken (medium spice) along with Garlic Naan and Chili Naan, and everything was perfection.

The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and had just the right kick of heat to keep things interesting without overpowering the delicate balance of spices. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the chicken was incredibly tender.

The garlic naan? Fragrant, soft on the inside with just the right crisp on the edges. But the real surprise was the chili naan — bold, fiery, and addictive. It perfectly complemented the butter chicken and gave that extra punch I didn’t know I needed.

Massive shoutout to the tandoor guy — you’re the unsung hero back there! Whoever's behind those naans knows exactly what they're doing. That balance of char, fluff, and flavor is not easy to pull off, but you nailed it. Keep doing your magic — you're seriously elevating the whole experience!
