When I first started. I had lost everything, just had a baby and my son had some medical conditions. The school was accommodating at first. Overtime, we lost alot of staff and students. I really thought I'd enjoy my 18 months spend at IMBC, but it was not the case at all. First off I had the dean and another instructor tell me I was too fat. I was under 230lbs. The dean went as far as saying I was so fat I couldn't even fit into walmart scrubs. After that, I started the process for weight loss surgery which I had. At graduation they told me they thought I could do it if I tried harder. mind you, I was student ambassador vice president and maintained a 4.0 GPA the entire time I was there. I cause no trouble, helped my fellow classmates and they still treated me horribly. I have had the president threatened me if I were to even talk bad about the school and make sure I never find a job, which so far seems true, minus one place. my externship was meant for an LPN. I had a mother who worked there and student make it very clear I should have never been placed there. the hours did t even match my sons schedule. When they asked where I'd like to go they always told me I wasn't a strong enough person and couldn't do it. When I explained to career services about the issues at my site. she said she would find me another and never did. I barley made my hours. I have been told to drop out many times. When I was going through a PFA and physical abuse from and ex they told me to get over it and get out of the office I am too dramatic. That the blindness I was having I need to deal with because a specific someone told me she was blind and she does fine everyday. The always said it was and open door policy. It isn't. I have seen how they treat there staff and run them dead, I have seen how they pick there favorite students and how they push away the rest because it's all about Money for them. I went to school to do everything I could to make a life for myself and my son. I did have some good instructors but when it all comes down to it. It's how you have been treated. I feel they took from my education and arnt doing what they can to bring my confidence up for my patients and to make me the student they promise everyone who goes there. I was even helping a student with rides to school. everyone who did that, received assistance from them but myself. If I could go back IMBC not be my choice in schools. I have more to say but I think I said enough. I'm sure this will make any jobs hard for me. I also feel like the reviews I have read are not even true. only a few good people in that school and those are ones who teach. But I never gave up like you guys wanted. I really hope future students get treated better and I really hope they stop being people they are fat and believe in the ones with the struggle. Not every student that attends medical school for the right reasons but I did. IMBC should be ashamed of themselves. I do not recommend this school to anyone. good luck to the ones who do it. you deserve better. They even turn heads to students having sex in the parking lot 9n lunches because one is a major teacher's pet. Anyone else would of been kicked out, lost work study . All of...
Read moreI am currently enrolled in the Dental Assisting Program at the Pittsburgh Campus and I absolutely love everything about it! When I was in college I did not know what path I wanted to take in life. A friend had went here and told me about how amazing of a time she had and I decided to enroll. Every single step of the enrollment process and financial aid process made me love this school even more. Coming into this program, I knew nothing about dentistry. My instructor, Mrs. Cicarelli, is so knowledgable and really takes her time to explain things and to teach. Ms. Steele is an amazing director and knows what she can do to help out the students with school or just in life. Ms. Steele and Mrs. Cicarelli really care about their students not only on an academic standpoint but on a personal level. They make school very easy to come to and want me to stay even longer. A few months into my time here, I had applied for a dental assisting job. They both helped me with my resume, were used a references, and I got the job. If there is one thing I know about IMBC is that they genuinely care for their students futures and want nothing but the...
Read moreMy husband and I both decided to go back to school and earn our degree at IMBC. They were amazing at making sure I always checked in and had my work complete because I have 4 kids One of which is a toddler and very needy lol. So as you can imagine doing school and having an at home full-time job with 4 kids was a lot for me but with IMBC I always got reminded when to login if I didn't and they always worked with me if I had a difficult week like my toddler being sick or something like that because as you can imagine at that point my full attention was on my son. My husband also worked full-time so when he got home sometimes it was so late. They were also very helpful on catching up if I fell behind and giving me the freedom to do the work when and how I wanted or needed to do it. As a matter of a fact they were so great I decided to continue my education when I graduated from the medical billing and coding program and go into my associates degree in medical records technician which has been a life changer for my while family. If you ever decide to go back to school I 100%...
