Hilltop Ice Cream Shop — Restaurant in Fairview

I would give Hilltop Ice Cream a 10+ as the best Homemade Ice Cream I've eaten in this area and maybe anywhere! We only go to HANDMADE ice cream shops whenever we go and this shop offers many unique flavors to choose from including chocolate, vanilla and strawberry for those of you who are afraid to step "outside the box" and try something out of the ordinary! Emma was our scooper that day and she was amazing...friendly, knowledgeable and superb customer service!!! They should be #1 on any Ice Cream Trail visit...they are DEFINITELY worth the trip there!!! We tried Cherry Goat Cheese (AMAZING:), Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake, Lavender Honey & Coconut Joy and will be back before we leave to try at least 4...

My husband and I have been staying in Fairview for the summer while I write my next novel and have visited Hilltop many, many times for their delicious ice cream. I often hear "the call" as I'm returning from my run at the farm. Hey, at least I get my exercise in first, right? We love the butter pecan, pecan praline, bear tracks, and salted caramel pretzel flavors. The servings are quite generous. Best of all, the people who work there are soooo friendly and we've really enjoyed seeing them. We'll be leaving the Asheville area soon, but when we return next summer...first stop,...

Haven't been to this place in about 9 years. We were hoping it was still there. It was!! I had homemade banana Pudding scoop in their homemade waffle Cone. The Cone was very good and I liked that it wasn't too hard. The ice cream was good, but I will have to admit there's a place up north I go to and their banana Pudding had pieces of banana and cookies mixed in. This one was just ice cream, but it did taste like it. Hubby had his usual mint chocolate chip. Was very good. They also give military discounts. I hope it doesn't take 9 more years to...
