Super disappointed! The whole setup sucks! MN should take some notes from Iowa’s State Fair and how they showcase their state brewers. In Iowa, it’s a massive tent packed with breweries, and I can get whatever I want from whoever I want—it’s awesome!
At the MN State Fair, however, you can only get a pre-poured set of flight types that they claimed cycle through, but in fact did not—or at least not during the 8 hours I spent at the fair on Saturday. For a state that has so many amazing breweries, the way this is run is a real shame.
I drove from St. Louis—an 18+ hour round trip—primarily for the beer, and I couldn’t have been more disappointed. We finally left and started our own brewery hop around the Twin Cities just to salvage the trip.
The MN State Fair should maybe cut back on one of the endless car sales lots taking up space and instead set up a giant beer tent like Iowa. Your breweries and patrons deserve better than a stagnant list of pre-poured beers.
