The Peg provides a nice change of pace from the numerous booths offering deep-fried foods on sticks. They have a nice spot in the Southeast side of the iconic Horticulture building, with seating inside, or out on the patio. I usually think of The Peg as a breakfast place, but was happy to find seating available on a rainy Saturday afternoon. I enjoyed their California burger very much. The fries were good too, even if not the tastiest on the fairgrounds. It's also nice to have table side service, after walking the fair for hours on end. Imagine, you just park yourself at a table and someone promptly takes your order and then brings the food and drinks to you while you rest. Sweet!

Peg Restaurant is a new favorite for me at the State Fair. The breakfast muffin was delicious. The sausage patty is fried which adds a nice crispy texture. They have full table service or you can order at the walk up place if you want. Highly recommended!

Very friendly and helpful. Good service, very fast. Food was remarkable. Best food at state fair. I would recommend sitting towards the left as you will get great servers such as Maci and Kami. They brighten my day tremendously.

I don't get the appeal. They hype the place up for being the only full-service restaurant on the grounds. Yeah, I get it, it's not a common experience at the sacred fairgrounds. But it's a fair. People eat like cows, they graze and chow down all day. It's elbow to elbow, and there's trash all over the place by evening. Having a waitress bring you food is unique, but good grief, it's not like I'm being treated like royalty. The food was OK, but it's the fair. Everything is overpriced, so I'm paying a lot for the privilege of somebody bringing my food to me rather than walking it myself to a table. And for that overpriced food I'm now expected to tip? What a real pleasure that burger and fries turned out to be. Oooooooooooooooh, I was waited on! What an incredible experience. It's a hot day, could you turn up the AC? Oh, no, you can't. I overpaid for minimal table service and now I have to tip? At least they aren't serving me deep fried food on a stick. I don't know who thinks this place is great. But the hype about it is not warranted. It's better than a lot of the garbage served out of a mobile trailer, but not worth your time and money at the fair. Honestly, is any of the food worth it? The correct answer is no. And The Peg is at the top...

The peg is by far one of the best hidden gems of the state fair. You can go anytime of day and there is something for you. The peg muffin is great for breakfast. the peg burger is great for lunch or dinner and then top that off with the loaded fries. Highly recommend all of those options. our personal favorite is the loaded fries. Great staff and service every time we go loved that you can stay and sit at the tables or...
