always enjoy Barrett's no matter which location. The meals are usually good, but here, there are a few caveats.. First, spend some money on a water filtration system to remove that bathroom faucet copper pipe taste in your soft drinks. We have all moved on from the 80s when we all drink water from a garden hose and liked the taste. It's hard to stomach the soft drinks when you have a metallic copper taste in your mouth. Second, the whole point of having bread and dipping oil is to taste the flavor of the oil, namely olive. But when you serve bread with a flavorless oil like canola or a vegetable oil, and sprinkle a little bit of pepper in it, all you really have is a greasy wet blob of bread with no taste defeating the whole purpose of having a flavored dipping oil to begin with. I'm sure most people probably just dip it once and abandon the rest. Charge a little more, use olive oil, and people will enjoy it. Besides this I really can't say anything bad about the restaurant chain as a whole. I am just mentioning these few things in hopes of taking a great restaurant chain and offering suggestions for improving it.

We went to Barrett’s for a last minute Valentine’s dinner. We were surprised to see Filet on the Valentine’s menu, so we both ordered it. My wife ordered her Filet medium rare, while I ordered mine medium well. The plates came with asparagus and baked potato with bacon and cheese. Our expectations were low because Barrett’s is a franchise and plates were $30 each. My cut of filet was over cooked, while my wife’s was cooked as requested. The asparagus was way overcooked and the baked potatoes were typical franchise baked potatoes. The meals came with a dessert which was chocolate covered strawberries and weird jimmy covered truffle balls with whipped cream on we the side. The food quality was under our expectations. I was surprised to see they had Truly on tap (berry flavor) which was fresh! I also ordered a green tea shot, which was well made. Don’t judge me, it was a rough week. Long story short, if you stick to the standard menu, it will probably meet your expectations. If you venture outside the norm, you’ll probably be disappointed.

Disappointing at best! The reason why I'm sharing the pic/post that's directly from Barrett's Alehouse is because it was the driving force in our decision to give Barret's a try. As you can see in the follow up photos, the fish tacos we picked up would not live up to anyone's expectations. Portion size was grossly exaggerated, the food was cold, and our twisted mac was lacking in sauce. Although probably better off since it was the first mac n cheese I ever had that was sugary. $16 for the fish tacos. $14 for the twisted mac. $34.50 after the surcharge and tax. $40 total after adding a tip. Hard-earned money NOT well spent, lesson learned.

I don’t get what is up with this location because I frequent at the Bridgewater and waterfront location and I never have a problem. Last night my friend and I went to the Alehouse hoping to have a relaxing night from our stressful days. We were sat immediately by the house but were not greet by our waitress for 10 minutes. When she came over we ordered drinks from their special menu and so unkindly she goes “K ID’s” which is whatever. Then our drinks didn’t arrive for another 10 minutes because their bar was backed up so I asked her to bring us water while we waited although when we got our drinks they were absolutely disgusting. My friend's drink was much darker in color than mine (we ordered the same thing) and mine tasted straight like blue raspberry vodka. I was hoping to get a new drink but I the waitress ignored us for 25 mins walking right past us to her other tables even when someone else dropped off our meals she didn’t come by for 10-15mins. When I finally got her attention and told her I didn’t like my drink she copped an attitude with me and goes “you don’t think it’s made right” and I said no it does taste good. Instead of apologizing and trying to make it right she goes “k what do u want you want them to remake it … or you want something else”. I choose to get something else and that one also wasn’t well. Now for the food it was okay the flavor was good but it was either uncooked or over cooked. My friend got the Mozambique bowl which she gets at after location and the rice was so undercooked she was crunching it they as never but the banana peppers in the meal. I got the Cajun pasta which was really good but as I was eating it I found black burnt ends of spaghetti in my dish so they burnt the pasta. All in all we say the waitress I total of 4 times on our visit one being when she dropped the bill which is the only time I felt she was kind to us and even saw her smile. As two people who work in the service industry this was such an unpleasant experience and indicates there need to be more training going on here because no table she ever be treated the...

Usually they r good but tonight was horrible we went there because they have a game room says they are open until 2 a.m. and kitchen hours were til midnight. We showed up at 11 and were told they had only a late night menu of a burger, chicken tenders , fried pickles and mozzarella sticks which is seriously LAME we said screw it and got some tenders that were ok figuring we'd eat have a few drinks and play some games fair to say we were done by 11:45 and asked for a box and said we would go in the game room which we have done multiple times in the past until 2 a.m. a few minutes before we saw some kids come out of the game room and we didn't even finish eating so we could get in there and have a good time on a sat. Night that was something different instead of the usual club seen or what not the waiter brought the bill and the box and sat at the table across from us after informing us that they closed the game room because no one was I'm there and they sent the girl home I decided to finish my 8 dollar drink. That I was going to bring in there with me as I have several times in the past he sat there and just stated at us while the bus boy cleaned the other 2 tables from the other customers that had just left ... Very uncomfortable now our section was empty he actually came over and asked us if we needed anything else or if we were ready to go. I explained I was finishing my drink. He proceeding staring then started sweeping the carpet right next to us which is really rude he obviously wanted us to leave... They really need to step it up have a better night menu, less rude employees and be open as advertised I won't be going back there anytime soon. Safe to say I paid my bill and as for a tip I wrote him a message full of tips he and the resturant could improve on ... Maybe next time he...
