We heard great things about the meat pies and other things that Sam’s Bakery in Fall River makes. We took a ride out to Fall River visiting Sam’s Bakery. Purchased spinach, cheese, and the meat “pies”. Spent about $55. But cost is no issue. When we got home we decided to have a sampling of what we purchased… one bite … so salty and strong lemon taste… couldn’t taste anything else. We refrigerated the rest… too disappointed on the quality of the food. How can they sell food without tasting it first. Aren’t they ashamed to sell food that is ultra salty and too much of a strong taste of lemon. They got carried away with the salt and lemon powder. The head baker should observe what his/her assistants are doing… did they drop a jar of the lemon crystals or powder in the filling mixture and just pick it up and thinking no one would notice? The dough was beautiful giving one the thought that the contents would be just as good as it looks. Very disappointed. We will not visit/purchase our spinach, meat, or cheese “pies” whether open-flat or closed - triangles. So disappointed and we will tell our friends that we took their advice and visited Sam’s to try their products and will not visit again. We feel bad for the founders because Lebanese and Syrian people have a pride in what they do, especially preparing baked food. I gave one star so as to...
Read moreThis is most likely the best food you can eat around here. My father brought me here my whole childhood and its absolutely delicious, and good for you.. you CANNOT get food like this around here. Not even at the other meat pie place close to them. This bakery is an absolute goldmine for the owner, and for us, because the prices are very cheap as well. (Just note (I believe its Thursdays..) is a no bake day.) Every other day you come, other than that day, the pies are freshly just cooked, plus you can ask for them to put your pies on another go around on their signature pie cooker. Its amazing its one of a kind. A MUST TRY. And remember I have been going there for over 20 years so this is from every possible experience I could have had there. Everytime you go there after the first time, you will be so excited to be getting this delicious food, and for such a value. It is CASH ONLY so make sure you stop at the corner store down the street and use the atm. Also buy some to take home. Put tin foil on a baking pan and set to about 275-300 for about 2:30 to 3 minutes and they are almost good as new :) I would be proud to put my name on a...
Read moreSams is a staple in Fall River, it's been is business over 50 years, a business doesn't last that long doing things wrong. I've been eating Sam's Pies since I was a child in the 1970's. I have taken these pies to friends homes as well as served w/in my home on holidays they are a hit always. Sam's is a Lebanese Bakery, the product is a thin type pita bread some pies enclosed others open faced. They do not bake everyday during the week, the weekends they do. Early mornings on the weekends up to noon expect a line, but it moves quickly. If your getting a large order call in advance it'll be ready & waiting. They have 2 parking lots, that should tell you how popular they are. The only negative comment I can say is the interior of the bakery, in serious need of either a deep clean or remodel. The staff is friendly & the employees are long term so they often know what you want. My favorites Lebon (meat w/yougart) & Chourico. Both of these are enclosed pies. You can also get "party size" pies a slightly smaller...
