Kasdon's Restaurant & Tavern — Restaurant in Falls Township

i’ve lived in the area for years and hearing of Kasdons here and there I’ve never been inside. We wanted something quick to eat and that was the closest to where we were so we thought we’d give it a try. The waitress was polite and the bus boys were as well. I ordered the stuffed broiled fish and it was nothing but mush. I had a table that was eyes view to the kitchen thank God I was already eating my mush and not gone with the salad that I normally always go with. Lord only knows what they did with my fish, seeing how I watched the waitress just grab handfuls of lettuce cucumbers onions tomatoes and everything else that goes into a salad and throw it on a plate and take some off and then put some back on. Bare hands just dipping into the salad. I will never go back again. I rated everything a 5 bc of the FEELS of this place. If you're too uppity or posch, you will be disgusted. This place gives off a small hometown feel to me, and I LOVE bars or taverns like that. It's old and outdated. It may even look dingey, but that's what small hometown bar taverns should be. This place looks the part 100% naturally. You enter through the bar area and walk to the restaurant part. No biggie. You do get the stares from all the usuals, but they are nice folk. They won't bite! ALL of the staff are very polite and professional. Even when short staffed, they do their best. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is how dark it is inside. However, that DOES add to the effect. The food there is very good. I always have a tough time choosing bc I know whatever I order will be delicious. I can't remember what my dad got the other night, but it was chicken breast with bacon and peppers on top, and cheese melted over it. Ugh! Looked phenom! I got a Cajun burger, which had great flavor. I typically get the buff. Chk. Chs. Stk. I usually do not have room for dessert, so Idk much about that. They have a generic beer selection but a good selection for takeout. Ive been going for years there. I went had a buffalo chicken salad. I was sick for 3days after & the service would be better if they had a waitress & a bar tender. The new owners have changed the atmosphere & vibe. Instead of the quite dim relaxed vibe. It’s bright with colored walls one is sport & another has a Jazz sign. This was a local dinner / drink place catering to the families & over 35 age group. A community place with stakes/ donations in the local sports teams. Im not sure what the owner is trying to do here?? I see karaoke signs & and some sports decor. After getting sick & 2 visits with one bartender & a cook hmm. My guess is this place needs some help. My modo is don't fix what is not broken. I also heard the regulars rolled out due to comments from the owners wife . “If you don't like it here you can leave”. I hope Kasdons stays & is successful ,but im not hearing good things. Its not the change or the people its the vibe & honestly the food. I wish this place luck...
