So, one of their best dishes (imo) is their candied walnut shrimp.... I'm not sure why, but every single time I go to the location on 52nd, their shrimp is dried out and hard and it looks like it's been sitting there untouched for quite some time..... the one off 45th is always really fresh and delicious.
The noodles at the 52nd location are also usually a bit dried out with WAY too much onion and cabbage. It's almost like a 1:1 ratio for some reason. And they also don't give you sweet and sour sauce with your cream cheese Rangoons unless you make sure to ask for it.... talk about leaving and realizing they're really trying to be cheap, regardless of the fact you spend $20/meal...
Service-wise, 45th is WAY WAAAAAY faster! Friendliness though, both are about the same - they mean business. They want to dish you up and get you moving along, which they're actually quite efficient. Wouldn't hurt to be smiled at though, but it is what it is.
Overall, none of these things stop us from coming back with hopeful minds that the food will be balanced and fresh, and when it isn't, there's always...
Read moreWe went to Panda Express last week because it had been a long week, we had been to Panda Express many years ago, and we didn't want to cook dinner. We were very disappointed in the poor quality of food, and uncooked food.
While the staff were friendly and efficient, the food itself was definitely not up to par. The entrée--for both of us--tasted like an institution meal, especially the sauce/flavoring--like at a public school or hospital. Plus, for both of us, our rice was "mostly" cooked through, with too many pieces of "uncooked" rice. We couldn't even finish the meal. In comparison, most all of the other family-owned Chinese restaurants in metro Fargo never put uncooked, or bland food out like this Panda Express meal; they take pride in their meals.
So, we will definitely be planning our Chinese dinners at Mr. Wok's in West Fargo in the future. At least at Mr. Wok's, they are always on the mark in flavor and properly...
Read moreCouldn't go into the restaurant as it was closed for dine in. This was acceptable considering the current health situation. So, we downloaded the app and made our order, and submitted it while in the restaurant parking lot. As soon as we submitted it, we called the restaurant to make sure that they had received it an told them we were waiting outside and gave them a description of our vehicle (we were the only vehicle in the parking lot with that description) we were told that our order would be brought out to us at 7:25. At 7:45 our food was finally brought out (cold) and we were told that it had been sitting on the counter for almost 30mins as nobody knew who's order it was. With all the information given to them, there shouldn't have been such a problem. On a side note: the young lady that finally had the sense to bring our food out was very nice and apologetic. Her pleasentness was very warm and left us with...
