I traveled to the DFW area to visit my daughter who lives in Caddo Mills. I asked her for a good recommendation for BBQ. She let me know she had been to Wood And Time Smokehouse BBQ previously and recommended going there again. So we did!
This is my honest assessment of my first visit on the evening of 06/22/2024.
We walked in and were immediately greeted by an awesome staff. From the gentleman taking our order to the staff prepping our food, to the cashier - the staff could not have been more accommodating and welcoming.
The gentleman that was preparing our order offered us two large samples of the smoked brisket. I am a 'burnt-ends fatty brisket' guy - and his two samples did not disappoint.
My daughter and I sat down to have our meal and wound up having a conversation with a Ms. Lisa and her young son whom were seated next to us. It turns out she is related to the owner. The conversation between the four of us could not have been better.
The food? Beyond exceptional in my opinion. The service? It just doesn't get any better. Warm, friendly and very welcoming as if we were family as well.
Well, suffice it to say, we returned for a second time the following day on Sunday after church to rinse and repeat. Like Saturday night, it was an amazing experience.
Keep up the GREAT work that you all do at Wood And Time Smokehouse BBQ. The quality of food, the service and the overall atmosphere is what will keep your doors open and more people coming - for many years to...
Read moreWe go to Wood and Time so often they should probably start charging us by the month. And honestly, I’d still consider it a bargain.
The smoked chicken is absolutely phenomenal—like, "you’ll be thinking about it during meetings and church" kind of good. Juicy, flavorful, and smoked to perfection. It's our go-to, but the rest of the menu holds its own. The brisket is fall-apart tender, ribs are meaty and delicious, and the jalapeño sausage brings just the right kick without sending you into witness protection.
The sides are solid too—especially the cornbread and the peach cobbler. Fair warning: the cobbler might make you emotional.
Service is friendly, quick, and always welcoming—even if you’re back for the third time that week. Just know it’s self-serve drinks, so if your sweet tea runs dry, that’s on you.
Atmosphere gets 4 stars—not because anything’s wrong, it’s just not trying to be anything fancy. It’s clean, comfortable, and smells like smoke and meat dreams. That’s a win in my book.
Wood & Time is the kind of place you tell your friends about, then secretly hope they don’t go too often so there’s always a table...
Read moreTerrible Customer Service! I ordered 1 lb of moist brisket and received dried out slices from the flat. I had to give my order twice to the man who wrote it on the box. Then i stressed it to the cashier, when she asked me what I had ordered. So either they are bbq incompetent or just don't care about there customers. That, or they think everyone that walks in the door doesn't know bbq and just give you their old brisket that has been sitting there all night. The brisket was dry and had a bitter smoke taste. I ordered a whole slab of ribs that was old, dry and chewy. The jalapeno cheese sausage was ok. The hot link sausage was the best thing at this place, it tasted home made. I am sure the old blk man that took my order knows the difference between the flat and the point of a brisket, so I believe this was just poor customer service because all he wrote on the box was 1lb of sliced. I paid alot of money for bbq brisket, not dried beef jerky. On a good note, best banana pudding that I have ever had. Need to fix the bitter smoke taste of the wood used and...
