Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Farmington Hills

I had the opportunity to photograph a few of their treats. after speaking with the nice owner, Theo I learned that Rita's, established in 1982 has over 600 franchise locations nationwide with only 3 in Michigan. He told me his favorite family memories as a youngster his parents would take the family to Pennsylvania during the summers and his favorite place to stop was, you guessed it, RITA'S. He has only been open for 4 months but I was very impressed with the sweet young lady behind the counter who has great customer service skills and the clean and fresh environment. But most of all, the taste of their Reese's peanut butter sundae and their vanilla custard oreo cookie. Omg this is the custard I've been dreaming of all summer and last. SO creamy and flavorful and the Italian ice is delicate and delicious with such a great texture! We ended up here because our first choice was too packed and boy am I glad we did, I can't rave enough. The staff was super kind and patient and made the experience even better. Excellent place for ice cream/ gelato. Their frozen custard is dense and smooth which is amazing. Soft serve have more air in the mix and become too light, but Rita's you can almost chew the frozen custard. Never had soft serve/frozen custard dense and thick like that before.
