I hate to write this. I've liked this restaurant for so many years and used to live very close to it. Have some good memories, especially since mom and dad are now gone. The main attraction for me has always been the fried wonton and the wonton soup and eggrolls. But in the past couple of years, the very thing that made the wonton special was missing almost completely! They used to make them very crispy but never burnt, not greasy, and finally the piece de resistance was that little center of spiced pork! Last time I got some to go, there was so little meat in the center you could mistake it for a grain of sand, and they were burnt tasting and nasty. I was so disappointed! I also started to notice that the wonton in the soup had this strange flavor even when fresh. I know it was the wrappers for the wontons, but can't figure out why they had a strange lead-like? or chemical taste. It happened twice, and once I actually got sick from the food. I'm talking projectile, violent and sudden. I can't describe the odd taste of those wonton in the soup. Maybe tastes like paint might? Anyway, it is disappointing to have this happen at the only Asian food place I used to like. No other place in town that I knew of had those fried wonton with the pork centers. Most places just use cream cheese centers. Boring. They had a great thing going at one time. I hope it improves but from recent ratings, it has not done that yet. I make a very nice ham fried rice at home, and have made my own delicious wonton and eggrolls, but sometimes I would like to not have to go to the trouble of the deep frying and wonton wrapping. Another poster offered the good advice of reading the reviews and trying harder. Please do. As a lifer in this town, I'd love it if the food was like...
Read moreGave it a try, and it's been years since I last ate here. The atmosphere felt dull and ineffective. Can tell all the tables and chairs had years put into them as they were dwindling with time. The service was attentive and nice. Now the food and selection were a disappointment. Very salty and bland was my first reaction. The rice was semi-hard and lacking flavor. Ordered the buffet right at noon and saw that there was not a fresh selection of food. Most of everything was empty and dry from the look of it which gave no appeal to getting a buffet. Nonetheless, the food was not good at all. What happened to this place? Eating there nothing seemed to indulge my craving for Chinese cuisine and seemed they do not put a whole lot of love or interest into what they cook because there was no flavor or selection. No Kung pao chicken, no mushroom beef or orange chicken. I didn't care for the buffet. Maybe I just came at a bad time, maybe not?? Definitely would go elsewhere for Chinese food because I wasn't satisfied. And after all, the cashier asked to leave a tip and I always leave a tip and said it was at the table.. kinda rude to me for someone to ask for a tip.. anyway, the only best thing I liked was the hot mustard and chili sauce, everything else was a disappointment. I do not recommend eating here. Maybe in the future, I'll give it another try. 2.5 out...
Read moreI want to know how this place is in business. Their food is horrible. I mean, really horrible. The food looks and tastes like if they pulled it out of the trash can. Why is there so much salt on the shrimp? Why not serve shrimp without the shell and maybe with some vegetables and hot sauce. FRANK you should be ashamed of yourself for selling food that bad to people. Have you ever seen your reviews. Make some orange chicken right with some good steam rice. Not that nasty stuff that hardly has any sauce on it. Server some clams and blue crab legs on Friday to bring people here. If you need some pointers on what needs to be replaced, please contact me back. Farmington needs a great all you can eat place, not this horrible food. The manager need to be replaced here. I heard back in the day this used to be the spot. What happen? The chicken here taste rubbery. I literally chewed one piece for 5 minutes, now that's bad. I had to...
